Velocity Limits - How many?

I know there are some people on here (at least from before) that have been power sellers on Amazon. My question is: how many times does your account go into hard review before you hit the expand as you please as long as you don't have too many late shipments or negative reviews or whichever.

Thank you very much for your time!

P.S. I'm only interested in how many, not when (monetary wise) they occur.

Pretty sure it's no more than 3 (it was years ago for me), and only the first review is all "gung ho, we are keeping our eye on you for 30 days".

Hello :) I didn't know there were powersellers on Amazon. Anyhow when you hit about $700-$750 in any rolling 30 day cycle, you will go into review. I think there is, or could be, a review when you hit about $3000 per month but I don't know much about it. Seems someone here mentioned it

Axcend 04-08-2011 06:03 PM

yeah there is definitely a second one in the 3k range, but thats a very loose number and I think it is dependent on sales volume, both items and monetary. But you are saying that after the first one, its pretty clear breezing? For the subsequent reviews after the first, do they hold your money for 30 days and take the full 30 days again? Or is it more of a do a quick look at the DSRs and refunds and such?

schuerm26 04-12-2011 08:23 PM

Survived my first account review. No negs. 4 pos. about 40 items sold. No chargebacks or anything. I wasn't worried about not surviving it. Though feedback is a complete pain on Amazon.

Now my question is, does anyone have any idea if they raise your selling limit after the initial review? I realize I need to keep pumping people for feedback as that is what really helps. If feedback comes in as slow as it did before am I looking at another account review when I sell around $600 - $700 more worth of stuff? Or am I able to sell more stuff without worry (the $3000 number?)

Thanks for the help.

Congratulations! Sorry I haven't been back here to respond.

After the review your Selling limit is raised. It may be listed in your customer metrics but if not, Amazon Rep can tell you what it is.

I am at a little over $2000 in 30 days on one Amazon account and there has been no second review as of yet.

Agreed & you're welcome
The more feedback, the more I think they raise your limit though.
Luckily I haven't had to much of a problem but I pay for it.
I give money back when shipping is set too high, they will often leave feedback when they get a dollar or two

Melissa1971 04-12-2011 11:48 PM

Correction: I just looked at my amazon account. Did $2700 in December 2010 (records as 1/1) there was not a second review.
I had and still have between 20-24 percent positive feedback, no negs or neturals

Thanks. Ill check my feedback percent tomorrow and post it. I have sold about 10-12 things the past 2 days with no extra feedback. Im getting a bit worried. I might need to blast people with feedback emails. Not huge dollar amounts or anything but im just concerned about sales and no feedback. I hate how they don't count no feedback as a positive. The people that tend to leave feedback are the unhappy ones.

Aint that the truth
Amazon Rep told me the average feedback is 10% -13%
Sometimes emails can instigate bad feedback and you seem to be alright for now.

Yeah, I saw a number somewhere where on avg. it is between 10 and 20%. 10% seems about normal from my experience before. If that is correct then I am on a decent pace with the feedback. Thanks for the info.

Axcend 04-14-2011 08:56 PM

when you said you passed your first review with 4 positive feedbacks, are you selling high risk items? I was planning on waiting until I had 10 five star ratings (one account is 1/2 way) until hitting the first review. Because if its just a matter of a check up on stats after that, then i wanna make sure to pass it

subzero3001 04-17-2011 10:56 AM

I never hit a review on any of my accounts for the first three months. I am selling over $750 on older ones with 30+ 100% fb but not over $3000 in a 28-day cycle.

I will keep up with the posts if one of my accts comes under review.

Since I sell high risk items, the chance of passing a first review 3-4 months later is almost 0% correct?

I am thinking to keep a low sales profile on each acct so I can make it to 12 months or over on multiple accts.

Anyone with late reviews?

Axcend 04-17-2011 11:18 AM

I figured if you had enough feedback they would give you the benefit of the doubt on the account if it hit review.

Gamefreak 04-20-2011 06:14 PM

It was 3 for me... Now I do anywhere from 15-22k a month no problems. Before it was at 6k or so monthly. Now I dont have any problems.

Axcend 04-21-2011 06:57 AM

Gamefreak, mind me asking if you are selling vero? Also can you recall how many feedback you had before hitting the first review?

rsot 04-21-2011 10:41 AM

How you all last so long on "ve ro" stuff is wow - i sell legit and can't get to last ha.

Axcend 04-21-2011 11:36 AM

Got 5 accounts running since December running strong all on vero lol. 2 of then have passed random reviews so far. As soon as I figure out how to pass the first velocity review its gonna be on lol. I'm hoping 10 5 star feedback is enough tho I keep pushing it back. Soon as I get 5 more accounts up for backup then I'll let you know if i pass. So far it's just been a learning experience of what you can sell and what you can't. The stuff that I continuously sell you can't even tell it's a copy. But then ive sold praying I get away with it cause of obvious differences I didn't know before ordering. I also handle every refund via cash in the mail and my customers love it. Slowly building up solid inventory then I'm taking over amazon lol.

Gamefreak 04-21-2011 03:27 PM

90% of my stuff is not vero but I do sell windows 7 ultimate now. I havent had any issues with those as of yet. All software shipped with signature conformation.

My first review I had like 2 feedback. I got my first review within a week of making the account though.

newtools 04-25-2011 01:49 AM

it depends allot on what u are selling, how much of it and how quick. High risk items to play a role. there is always a time factor built into the risk model. amazon's systems are set up to be like a living breathing metrics system. It calculate risk on an ongoing basis and looks at these factors. if you are trying to sell and grab the $ quick amazon will know this look to stop it! so look at all factors
