ALERT: Annoying Amazon buyer for multiple accounts

I have a specific buyer buying from many of my multiple Amazon accounts, the st@$%&* diot will buy one item and he claims was for a gift for a person who already owns one, and then he will return it and claim for a refund.

I just gave him a refund and did not answer any more emails.

I think he does the same for many sellers.

Has this or those buyers came on your path? How do you handle them?

johnsmith 05-27-2011 11:23 PM

Just give them a refund what else are you gonna do. Amazon will just jack you and hold your money for 90 days. I guess it just depends on how much cash you have.

Melissa1971 05-27-2011 11:35 PM

Weird

Amazon only allows 5 refunds per lifetime right?

Ghost 05-27-2011 11:53 PM

So what's this guy's M.O. then? Is he just basically trying to "rent" items for free by doing this or what?

That was my thought. How does this benefit the buyer?

He/she could just have a few screws loose.

Also, I've never heard of a 5 refund lifetime limit.

The "5" lifetime limit pertains to claims, not refunds. Just checked

It's 5 A to Z reimbursements, I think.

rsot 05-28-2011 08:25 AM

5 refund per account limit.

I just had a buyer purchase something and then after I printed the postage and confirmed the shipment he emailed me and asked to return it before it was even shipped. I kept the shipping fee but refunded him the difference. Wonder if its the same person?

I hope they don't leave you bad feedback... what a pain.

If you don't mind what type of items are we talking about here? Media?

Gamefreak 05-30-2011 06:23 PM

Probably claiming that the item is not in the package and just having you issue a refund and keep the item or something of that nature...

FandangoKango 05-31-2011 08:22 AM

I personally had amazon refund me about 5k of items a few years back before they said to me through the phone that i could go to jail for saying i did not receive items and did I understand the consequences. They give you a few refunds, but after a while if your return policy is high they will shut you down even as a buyer!! Note: Im just giving some reference from experience. Do not think any funny stuff you suckers! lol

rsot 05-31-2011 09:23 AM

@Fandan - so you are saying that you have scammed 5k worth of items from sellers?

Gamefreak 05-31-2011 04:19 PM

I do it like 3 times a year with amazon for pricey items. But again I buy A LOT of stuff from amazon... So i'm sure my refund rate is still low.

Sell4more2 05-31-2011 07:02 PM

Why would you people do that???

Road-Kill 06-08-2011 04:09 PM

There's not much you can do. It's a lot easier to set-up stealth buyer accounts than it is seller accounts. The buyers get to choose the sellers, it doesn't work the other way , I wish it did,

Stealth buyer accounts come in handy if you need to boost your FB. If I go on a road trip I just use the accounts in different cites so the IP's match. I might set-up the accounts one trip and use them the next. You can just get a stack of delivery confirmation numbers at the P.O if you want, and if you really want to make it look real just send out empty boxes.

I just use these tactics if I get some warning my FB is too low. It's too much hassle for me to do all the time. Sometimes it's just more fun to let the buyers know what I really think if I'm not worried about the account. I've called one of the buyers a retard and then the mother complained to me about me being mean to her son, that was a certified retard or whatever the PC name is for that.

So you called the kid a retard and he really is a retard?

Road-Kill 06-08-2011 09:53 PM

I just thought it was another annoying customer, I didn't know ahead of time. I just guessed right with my analysis of the customers reasoning abilities, and expressed those thoughts.

He bought something in the morning and by the time I checked my e-mail later in the day he had already sent me a bunch of e-mails that got progressively worse by the hour, since he didn't get a instant reply.

So then I wrote back saying he was a moron or retard. Then the mom wrote me and complained about something or another.

I was kindof teasing you. Yes, that is annoying! :juggle:

some people shouldn't be allowed to use the internet. At the same time, being a seller you have to kneel and brown nose to EVERYONE. I had someone buy an item that I listed as new, description read: "THE BOX IS BENT!!! Everything still plays fine..." blah blah blah. I get negative feedback saying that the box was bent. what can you do?
