signing up on amazon for the first time
 

well im going to be signing up on amazon for the first time in a few days. im going to make a legit account and see how it goes.

if i need to go stealth, how similar is it to going stealth on ebay? is it much different? still need all the same tricks and ****?

Im in a very similar position to you - I do already have an Amazon account although ive not really sold anything major only a few old University books.

The way I look at it from reading around the forum is Amazon can be as unpredictable as ebay/paypal hence all the people on the forum who are suspended from Amazon.

If I do decide to up my sales on amazon to more business related activity I think im going to look at going stealth on that too and buy amazon ghost. That way i see it that im ahead of the game for if/when they do decide to suspend me.

I believe it may be a good idea to save my real details for a rainy day when its really needed. Something for you to consider also maybe? :juggle:

I can't remember specifically now but it is important to research whether you want the 39.95 merchant account up front

I think it affects whether you can offer free shipping and disbersement of funds times when you upgrade later

I upgraded to the merchant account later. It is nice to be able to disburse funds every 24 hrs though I don't do it that often.

14 day wait before initially disbursement, after that you can request every 24 hours. there are more ways amazon tracks you, you need the stealth book to learn how to prepare for them all. merchant account allows you to set your shipping rates. If you choose amazon fullfilment, you ship them all your items and they ship them for you when you sell them. This is what allows for free shipping.

i have proceeded real slowly. i am about 5 weeks in and have sold about15 things so far. i did just under $400 in the last month. most were just things laying around and i mixed in a couple high risk items i just marked as used-like new. i am experimenting with doing one of those every 10 days or so and see if it will work. i just opened another account too and will try the same.

hopefully if i go slow like this, i can gradually up my sales. the one thing that worries me though is feedback. i just literally got my first 10 minutes ago. its a bitch getting people to leave feedback. so i am worried they might get me for that

Feedback is a huge problem for Am az on but your slow method is good thinking.
