How to open a Canadian Bank account

Does anyone know if its possible to open a Canadian Bank Account without going to Canada? Is there anyway I can do it online?
I live in the States, but am a Canadian citizen. I do not want to return to the Great White to open an account. I have been gone so long, my bank accounts have closed.
I'd appreciate any help on this matter.

Good question - I know TD and RBC operates in the States so perhaps you can do something locally for Canadian bank account.

I don't know which bank would mail you docs in the mail to sign. Will look into this but I am sure other Canadian folx will chime in later.
