Lloyds TSB/Amazon problems

Right Basically I had a message from my bank tonight saying my accounts are restricted and being investigated due to fraudulent activity re amazon payments in different names going into my accounts

I only just got home so I only got this message now rang the bank and they've told me the department that deals with this sort of thing isnt open until the morning so I've got til tommrow to come up with some kind of explanation as to why I've had payments from two different amazon accounts in two different names go into my accounts

Sounds like it works a little differently in the UK. Wouldn't be an issue in the states. Anyone from there who can chime in?

Maybe you can tell them it's a friend's Amazon account and he uses your bank account because he can't open one?

mkr2204 09-02-2011 08:47 PM

Yea its a strange one - i've been doing this for about 8 months and they've suddenly just noticed I've not spoke to the relevant people yet, just been told literary what I've put in the above post by a normal adviser and apprently I need to talk to the fraud prevention department

Now I've thought about it, It could be something to do with fraud prevention ie they think someone else is using my account/someone else has opened an account in my name and is getting payments in a there own name name and thats the problem, that they think my account has been stolen or has been used by someone else

The best I can come up with at the moment is to just tell them someone else has been selling stuff for me and had the cash transferred to my account, if anyone got any better ideas then your welcome to add them :D

At this stage I'm not too worried and I'm hoping they think its fraud against me rather than me comminiting the fraud but we'll see I guess

Right spoke to them this morning and it was what I thought in the last post

Lloyds thought that someone else was using my account and I had to go though about 20 ID checks to prove I was me, I ended up telling them that someone else was selling stuff for me and got the money transferred directly to me, They seemed to accept this but told me that in future they will reject any payments in different names

Which of these prepaid cards comes with a bank account thats ok for amazon? Other than mycashplus, I've already got 1 of them

Lloyds TSB is not good for stealth. .:nono:

Kickboxerfighter 09-03-2011 01:50 PM

Intresting!! Usually they never ask about that so I am now aware which is good! Been doing Lloyd for a year. Not so stealth though!

Kickboxerfighter 09-03-2011 01:52 PM

What type of bank account with lloyds was u using?

mkr2204 09-03-2011 02:47 PM

1 current account and 1 savings account, both in names that wernt mine or anything remotely close

Kickboxerfighter 09-03-2011 05:24 PM

I see...

I have to be aware of this!

curently my name matches my bank.. I still got a saving account with them I can use for a new one.

Might just use the initials...

mkr2204 09-03-2011 05:57 PM

Hmmm, i didnt think of that - if i change the bank account details to just my initals, bank should have no problems yea? Question is weather amazon will be ok with that

GrannyT 09-04-2011 02:18 AM

I repeat - Lloyds TSB is not good for stealth - simply go next door to Natwest, Halifax. RBS or many others already listed on this forum and open a basic bank account. Why risk your business? - sorry - I cannot understand that at all

:pop2:

mkr2204 09-04-2011 08:13 AM

Not all of us have the credit history to walk into any bank we want and get as many accounts as we want

Besides If i'm just using initals its not really stealth is it, so they in theory shouldnt have a issue with it

Kickboxerfighter 09-04-2011 01:26 PM

Trying co-op, alliance Leicester, Yorkshire building society, Coventry building society, they don't need to much credit! Also halifax has a basic bank!

U can add initials to your lloyds but it will delay payment as for secret reason it takee 2 weeks to uPload

GrannyT 09-04-2011 01:29 PM

Halifax basic can be done on line, not worried about credit and usually do not require documents

sax4 09-05-2011 01:44 PM

Can confirm that Santander Basic, Natwest Easycash, and Natwest are good with Amazon

Kickboxerfighter 09-07-2011 10:11 AM

Natwest is good I use it!
