Suspended for Order Defect RAte- now need to appeal

Hey guys,
Got suspended after selling for a few months on Amazon for order defect rate not being < 1 %. They said im out for 90 days before my account will be reinstated(maybe). Wanted to appeal and was wondering if anyone had some tips?

JRYAN34 09-13-2011 06:38 PM

What were you selling?

HINT: ANYTIME doing a refund, always choose "customer changed mind" or "customer no longer needs" as an option

Road-Kill 09-14-2011 11:07 AM

Why don't you post the stats from your account.

Then there might be something to discuss.

adam34996 09-14-2011 11:35 AM

^^^ Like he said. How far over were you and for how long? First warning?

Neplusultra 09-17-2011 06:25 PM

First warning. at the 5% mark. first appeal denied, second appeal denied. Any one have additional tips or is this acount done for?

Road-Kill 09-17-2011 08:46 PM

It's sounds like you have just all bad news about the account, not sure how long you had the account. Or if it has a bunch of positive feedback, etc..?

The good news is you made it to this stealth site. So if you read the forums and/or buy the book here, and are somewhat coherent, you'll be able to get another account without any problems.

I had 96% on over 100 feedback, with 4 months of selling of Amazon. Primarily phones. but a higher than average A-Z claim and defect rate...any hopes you guys think in my current situation?

Melissa1971 09-18-2011 02:23 AM

How many transactions total do you have? I mean the average is 10-12% of customers leaving feedback, so if you have more than this it will work in your favor.

Also it depends upon the claims. Did the customer not allow you to resolve it, sent a message to you maybe then went straight to claims? And how willing were you to work it out with the buyers, I mean how did it get so far the customer needed to open a claim? Were you accused of selling knock offs? And it depends upon the phones, whether they are high risk or just an answering machine type phone. your other metrics, are they within the range? Do you buy delivery confirmation? Did you leave notes with orders asking for feedback thus expect more to come soon? that should help

96% is a bit low, they like to see 98%

How you related to the buyers during those disputes and in general plays into it too. Sorry not to be of much help, I hope you keep us updated

Gamefreak 09-18-2011 02:46 AM

you claim rate is 5% holy sh!t dude.

I hope you've only had a few transactions otherwise call it a day on that account as that ODR is terrible.

If you have negatives try getting those removed as well as those affect your ODR.

I Had apealed. I created a report and action plan within my report. Took me a while but it was worth it. Just tell them why u had high defect rate and u take returns and how u will improve... Good luck!

Road-Kill 09-18-2011 02:55 PM

Your wise to have doubts that they will reinstate you after 90 days. Like the cliche goes, you can piss in 1 hand and wish in the other.....

So if you can start a new account without it getting linked to the old account, after 90 days you could have 2 accounts going if they do reinstate you, and 1 if they don't.

They've already emailed me saying the ban is permanent after the appeal. I sold unlocked phones. Had some A-Z's I couldve avoided, but I wasnt thinking as this was my first time selling on Amazon. I tried appealing twice, but no go..just wonder if anyone else has any tips before I have to ghost it. I really enjoyed this account :/

Welcome to your new life as a Amazon Zombie.

The first phase is usually denial, then comes acceptance, and after that revenge.
