what does it mean about credit card on amazon?
 

This is what written on ama zon website regarding credit card requirement:

"We request credit card information primarily for identity and security reasons. By providing a credit card, you are also authorizing us to charge the card to settle your account in the event that the amount due exceeds your available balance.
The following credit cards are accepted during registration: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, or JCB. You may also use a debit card as long as it is connected with a major credit card company.


Now what does it mean by the last sentence? means a VISA debit card or master card debit card or a debit card linked to a credit card?

On my previous account (the deceased one) I used a debit card as I dont like the idea of credit cards and didnt even have one. It worked fine for almost a year.
Yes they mean Visa or Mastercard debit.

What kind of debit card - associated with bank?

There are two types of debit card.
1: owned by bank like bank of LA have their own debit card with no logos on it except it says bank of LA and debit card.
2: a debit card with logo like VISA or Master card on it. This would work as credit card.

Mine was associated with a bank. Bank of America. With the logo of course.
