Can amazon link accounts due to similar operating system? What information does amazon know about the operating system your using? Does amazon if my operating system has a service pack installed, or the version i am using?

Yes and no, but it does collects a series of information about your system. Get the Amazon Ghost, it will explain everything.

I would just get the Amazon Ghost guide, It's well worth it, bought it myself.
