Difference between Selling on Amazon and Amazon Marketplace?

I guess Amazon has 2 different programs.

1. Selling on Amazon
2. Amazon Marketplace

What is the difference between selling? Anybody have experience with both? I guess you can get disbursements more quickly through "selling on Amazon".

Indeed, a marketplace account only allows disbursements fortnightly where the other account allows one disbursement every day.

However, you are unable to market your listings by linking them / making offers and you do not get to set your own shipping rates - this is actually a pain when you are getting orders for multipe items and the customer gets charged £4.59 x 3 for example.
