Selling above 40 items per Month on Amazon
 

I have a normal "sell a little" Amazon account. I recently got over 30 items sold in the last 30 days.

Amazon says that for over 40 items sold a month, Pro Merchant is best.

Is this mandatory? Will they convert the account to Pro Merchant if I go over 40 items sold a month, or just charge me more fees and let me carry on selling using the basic account?

You will keep paying the same fees. You have to agree to go to pro merchant as there is a monthly charge you have to agree to.

However, if you are selling that much, it is worth it to go to Pro-Merchant. If you start to slow down, you can always downgrade back to regular.

Keep in mind with Pro Merchant, you get paid every 2 weeks, your option for 24 hour disbursements disappears.

Pro Merchant is not mandatory. I believe if you sell over 40 items a month, the fees cancel out, because non Pro-merchant accounts have additional fees for selling. I have a twice a month disbursement Pro Merchant Seller Central account; no issues so far.

If you sell more than 40 items its worth the grade as for regualr account you pay a closing fee of .99 for each item sold. So if you sold more than 40 items and upgrade to pro merchant you would not pay any fees other than the $40 per month.

Example.

Regular account

Sell 100 items - pay $100 in fees

Upgrade to pro merchant

Sell 100 items - pay $40 in fees.

Plus you get to disburse more often I believe and you get to add items to amazon catalog.

I will stick with regular plan to get my money in 24hrs
