Complicated Tax situation. Advice neded
 

I am opening a new account in my girlfriends name. I have a bank account I can link it to in my name. I understand Amazon can't see the name on the bank account so I will use here name and my account number.

Here is the issue. We will definitely be well over the limit to report to the IRS. If the account is in her name but the money actually is coming to my bank account with my name, who is liable to report the taxes?

No disrespect but Its not really that advanced. Its just who is liable, me or her. I've done my taxes on my old account for over 300,000 dollars in sales.

you are liable.. when amazon sends the 1099 it will be in the name of the person or company whos name and info was used not the name that is registered. My accounts are setup like that with different registered names but tax names are different and sent to me ( info I provide )

Amazon Account Name - My Girlfriends
Bank account Money is put into - My Name

When Amazon asks for her ss#, tax/id - The 1099 will be sent to her, however she will not have had any deposits put into her Bank account, only mine, yet her name will be on the Amazon account.

Who files the taxes, me or her?
