Can I be banned for not using and or uploading tracking??.

i only use tracking on high priced items and I only relay the tracking information if the buyer request it. Can you get banned for this??.

You need to provide tracking information.

yotano211 10-30-2012 12:05 AM

I dont know the pricing or weight of your items but if you use first class shipping, tracking is already included in the price, if you print the labels from ebay/paypal.

If no tracking is included, your buyers can turn around, file a "did not receive" claim on you and you would have no proof of delivery. Get enough of those and, kiss your account goodbye.

kris3841 10-30-2012 02:23 AM

Never have or ever will use tracking.
No problems here. Maybe one out of 300 customers complain,
but it is rare. Mostly honest buyers out there, but I guess that
depends on what you are selling.

Gamefreak 10-30-2012 02:34 AM

Amazon has metrics for that, im sure if its low enough they will want more info. Plus when the customer wants tracking what do you say to them?

Never a good idea to not get tracking. Its free online anyways ( well depends on the software use )

yotano211 10-30-2012 03:04 AM

Tracking info is usually for items over a certain price point. Some things are not profitable enough to add tracking. Its just depends on the items you sell and price point on them.

My items are expensive enough that I use tracking 100%.

dancnbaby 10-30-2012 09:36 AM

If you use Amzn for your shipping, it provides one for you. It doesn't cost a lot for tracking, so I don't know why you wouldn't. When I purchase something and there is no tracking it bugs me to no end. Don't be cheap, provide them some comfort of where their package is.

rsot 10-30-2012 10:03 AM

I have not been banned for not putting in tracking info - yes, it helps for the buyer to see info but - technically - as long as buyer receives item and you have prove of it, you should be ok.

temptation84 11-01-2012 08:33 PM

If using USPS mail it is FREE..... Why would you not use it just to be safe? Unless your items are being as a first class letter then its not eligible for tracking but there are not many items like that so..... just use it!

You have to pay for tracking, but in most cases it is under $1.

rsot 11-02-2012 01:17 PM

Depends a lot on the item, the type of buyer and your market niche.

soonthenet 11-05-2012 06:24 AM

Your account won't get banned for that. I don't put any tracking info when confirming shipments and my accounts still alive for years.

rsot 11-05-2012 06:45 AM

Years soonthenet? On what platform do you do much of your AZ activity?

JohnnyBoy 11-05-2012 09:26 AM

I use the, "better safe than sorry" cliche. With my stamps.com online shipping, tracking is free for all the packages I ship. It does cost 15.99 a month, but after you ship a few hundred items, it more than pays for itself.

newjerseymax 11-05-2012 11:47 AM

Tracking has been free on first class for a while and pretty much built in or very cheap for most other services. Its a customer service issue more then a getting banned issue.

Yes my big main accounts is a 3 years old account with nearly 1000 feedbacks, and I have never put any tracking info to any shipment :D

rsot 11-06-2012 06:58 AM

Thats cool - I guess I meant whether you use the .uk .com or .other platform...sorry if not clear

temptation84 11-06-2012 10:13 AM

Dancnbaby -

For all first class packages or higher tracking is FREE with USPS now. This happened last time they raised rates. That is if you are using something like Stamps.com or printing through the Amazon site itself it is FREE.

Maybe if you are taking each package to the post office and have them add tracking then it might be more but that seems like a severe waste of time.

I sell on amazon.com only :peace:
I used to buy things from big seller on Amazon.com and some didn't send me tracking so I think it's ok, just make sure your buyers are happy and that's ok :peace:

sax4 11-06-2012 06:17 PM

I don't use tracking on a lot of items, that's why they're getting such a good deal. Royal Mail insures you up to a certain amount with standard mail anyway.

Elijah 11-06-2012 06:50 PM

Delivery confirmation (so not even true tracking) in the UK almost doubles your postage cost on smaller items in the UK. So it's really not worth it if you are selling fairly cheap items with low profit margins.

AmazonStealth 11-06-2012 07:55 PM

To clear up any confusion....

1. Yes, you NEED to provide tracking. Amazon uses metrics for tracking and once you fall below the level you will be warned and then suspended.

2. Tracking is FREE (not including letter mail) with the USPS

3. You would be an idiot to not provide tracking.
