Is this setup asking for a "suspension" from Amazon

What a great forum!!

I was suspended from Amazon around 5 years ago. I really have no idea why... I was selling books, VERY small volume... a couple hundred bucks over a few months.

I have since set up 2 other amazon seller accounts, using PO boxes and business names. They too were shut down... when it came time to enter in credit card and bank account info - it was cross checked. I knew they would catch it sooner rather than later. No biggy.

Do you think the following is too obvious and will get this new account banned?

I'm back to selling books again, still small volume, a few hundred bucks over a 30-40 day span.

I am using an entirely different computer and ip address, that I have not used for the past accounts.

The account is set up in my cousins name, address, credit card and email.
The SS# is left empty at this time, but when the time comes, she will use her SS#.
I access the account to process orders, etc.

** Now here is where it might get funny and cause a red flag **

I have been putting off adding the checking info to Amazon Deposits b/c I'm worried it was going to set off a flag.

I opened a checking account in my maiden name at my parents address (neither have been used in my past amazon accounts).

I supplied this routing # & cking # to Amazon deposits today. The Amazon screen did ask for Account Name and it had to match the bank record. So, I had to put in my maiden name.

I'm worried that the different names from the credit card used to make the account "Suzie Smith" (my cousin) is different than the deposits checking account number " Jane Miller. " (my maiden name) might cause them some alarm.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Too messy?

Welcome.

First off you shouldn't use your cousins info, that is a big no no.

If you are using the same router or modem, that will link you.

On the bank account, you can put whatever name and it shouldn't matter. As long as your bank accepts the deposit you are good. You will know after the first deposit if it worked.

Search the forum, there is a lot of information about this. Also if you buy the book, it has it in there.

Thanks for the replies

I do plan on purchasing and reading the book.
I wish I would've found this forum/book before I set up this account as I could've set it up "properly" in ghost. :(

I am not using the same router and or modem from the first accounts.

I do plan on reading the ghost book. I will probably let this ride as long as it will.

I am not using the same router or modem.

The knowledge is appreciated.....

Great day!

It depends on the banks, some will allow if you put any different name on the amazon side.

I always put a random name for the bank name....never had a problem.

So amazon DOES track your modem? Because I read somewhere they don't but I wasn't sure.

Better safe than sorry has always been my motto.

I would DEF change the modem out if you have not done so already! It might be too late though for that.

You should be fine with the bank info BUT if you do get shutdown again I would make certain to find a bank that does not care about name match, open the bank account in your name and then put the stealth name into Amazon.... I do this all the time and have no issues..... many accounts open for a very long time using this method ;)

Things have been going fine so far.

DO you think I should get this account out of my cousins name?

Could I use my maiden name (that is the name on the cking) and my parents' address (that is the address used on cking).

Or, should I just leave it as is and go as long as I can.

Also, when I enter in a social, I wonder if that will set anything off.

I haven't had to enter in a social as of yet.

THANK YOU for your thoughts on this.

What's wrong with having in her cousins name?

rsot 02-10-2013 04:47 AM

IF she uses her cousin's name and cousin's address, 1) her cousin might have problems trying to make an account of his or her own later...2) what happens if account gets hit for SSN? 3) something potentially fraudulent happens...then OP has issues with identity theft? etc....so many ways it can go wrong.

Kelly441 02-10-2013 09:36 AM

"2) what happens if account gets hit for SSN?" What do you mean?

" 3) something potentially fraudulent happens...then OP has issues with identity theft?" As long as she has permission to use her cousin's name and the cousin knows about it then it won't be a problem. If any problems arose the cousin would step in and say they are who they say they are.
