Amazon Sellers fees WOW pretty damn dear

Hi

Dont know if i posted this on the right part of the forum but anyways I use to have a small ebay buisness that made me quite a tidy profit selling old games consoles . Paypal and ebay noticed i had another account from years ago and banned me with no appeal avalible

So yesterday i thought i will see if i can start selling on amazon and just roughly seeing what sells good and bad . I put a copy of celebrity juice the juicy bits up for £5 + £1.26 postage and packaging . Anyways it sold pretty fast but when i was checking fees i was shocked to see they took £1.88 worth of fees on a £5 sale . Surely thats abit much .

Anyways is it possible to get a business buying things cheap and selling them abit dearer and still make profit

They charge 10-15%. Ebay is actually way more ( for games ) but you dont realize it as everything is not in 1 place as with amazon. If you have a regular account they charge $1 FVF fee on each sale. That could be a big part of your fees

I get hit with 25%+ depending on price of item. Lower item price higher percentage they take out.

Dude, that is highway robbery.

Maybe wise to just sell high priced items with high profit margins.

Never thought about selling on Amazon for a single second. Never bought anything off there before either.

And yeah those selling fees seem terrible. Makes eBay look good

They are very high, but you do get that huge customer base.

Also tends to ensure higher quality of bidders.
