Created My First Amazon Account -- Inactive status???
 

First time creating an Amazon account today since alot of people say its better then Ebay I want to see it for myself. Trying to sell my first item and noticed that my "status" for my item is "inactive". Anyone know why that is? I used my real info since its my first amazon account. I entered in my bank and credit card info but was not asked to verify like they would do on Ebay is that the problem?

did the item sell straight away? if its not shown as sold, is it a pending sale? if you go to the sold part and i think its top right saying somthing like 1 pending sale.

You have said NOTHING of details - how did you register? with VCC? Any e-mail message? Tough to divine an answer.

You need to understand the AZ platform better...its not like eB. Go in the Am azon X section and read :)

It's a problem with sellercentral it has happened to me before, whereby submiting a listing it goes into "inactive" but actually when you look at the listing itself on Amazon you sellers name appears showing the item.

If it's not fixed, delete the listing from the action drop menu next to the order. After, resubmit your listing to amazon and make sure you add all necessary information before submiting. Also make sure your account is active on the account's section, it sometimes requires you add tax info., although this has been reported on their forums, I've never had it happened.

My problem seems to be "UPC or EAN". I wish amazon was easy to understand like Ebay. I dont have any. I heard I can just list on "Everything else" category on Amazon and wont have to provide one. Any other way around that?

When you list an item per se you look up a UPC# or EAN#,, to be clear that's only required if you have to look up each item provided from the search menu. SC platform has become very complicated over the years, I remember being less simple.

PS. you can always look up the name of your item,, if not in displayed or available online you may create a new listing for this item. But make sure first it is not displayed somewhere on Amazon as it can get deleted.
