Amazon- Holiday Selling New Member?

Hi, so is it safe to have a new account on Amazon to sell items. I know that amazon is a great website to sell items on. But since the holiday is around are they suspending new accounts? Which gift card is the best to use in order to keep selling on Amazon. Thank you!
