Please help!! Need urgent advice
 

Hi all :-) I got the book and am trying to do the vmware avenue. I have the application downloaded and all but now it wants me to put my operating system on. Well my computer did not come with a copy of Windows 7 disk, and it's supposed to have a "Windows Installer Image" or something but I cannot find it anywhere!!!

Can anyone please tell me where this is located or any alternatives??

it is a free OS, kind of like Microsoft OS but free and user friendly

or you need to download a trial of windows. should beable to get one for 90days or maybe there are still some beta window 8 links still around and could prob get a year out of that. otherwise go to bestbuy and buy windows 7/8.

I dunno what you are doing but this might not be up your ally...this isnt going to be easy and if you make a mistake like not spoofing your mac addresses right then all your hardwork is done.

I would agree with user3657 - If you are running into issues with defining what a Windows Installer Image is, correctly configuring your virtual machine and ensuring your network TCP/IP is correctly hidden may be too challenging.

I know what the windows installer image is, I do not know where it is located on my machine. The reason I didn't go get a cd of windows is because I knew there was an installer image on my computer, but I was trying to locate it quickly and couldn't. Thanks for the concern anyway.

If there was an image on your computer you can make search on your computer. Just search ".iso" it will find if there is. If you still cannot find you can google "windows xp professional .iso download" and download it. thats all

Also worth looking into ubuntu on the side as this virtual machine gets up and running.
