VMware Player very slow
 

I have installed VMware player and Ubuntu, but VMware Player is kinda slow.
Is this normal? :)

You most likely have a slow computer

It depends on your computer I would say. For managing accounts, I have an 8 core computer with 32gb ram and a ssd to store my virtual machine files so mine is always super quick.

No, its terribly slow.
My computer is fast if I use a normal browser.

And I can't install or activate my VPS server.
I have bought one and it is online, but if I go to ''ipburger.com'' via VMware Player, it shows my original IP-address, not the new one (assigned by the VPS server).

What's going on :S

A browser doesn't take much resources, but a VM is running another instance of Windows on top of what you already are running. It's a lot more than just running a second browser. What are your computer specifications?

Also mind elaborating what you meant by unable to install your VPS server? A VPS is a server located remotely for you to log into, it's not the same thing as VPN used to change your IP.

Yes, but I can't see my new VPS IP address.
I have bought the VPS server because it was recommended for its static IP address. But if I go to ipburger, my old IP address is shown, not my VPS IP address.

If I go to vpshosting.nl (bought it from this website), and login to my account and go to 'manage VPS server', its stated that my VPS server is online and I can see my IP address under 'VPS Server Details'.

But how can I use the VPS address if I'm browsing on the internet via a VMware Player (or via any browser).

I want a new IP address, that was/is the whole point of this...

Upgrade your computer memory and assign more ram to your VPS, it will go faster

Ok, I will sum it up:

- I have downloaded & installed VMware Player, but I don't have a system on it (only Ubuntu, but its slow...). Is it possible to install a Windows System on my VMware Player without a disc (via an online file or something)?

- I have purchased a VPS server. But I can't log in because I need a SSH client and I don't have one. They have recommended 'Putty'. But I have to log in on my VPS server via the VMware Player, right? And which 'Putty' do I have to download. There are so many choices on their download page: PuTTY Download Page

A question. You're installed VMware Player for what? Why you want login to VPS server via VMware Player?

I don't think you understand what either VPS and VMware Player is.

VPS is a physical server located elsewhere, the program PuTTY is used to connect to it. All operations are done on the remote computer, not yours.

VMWARE Player emulates a virtual computer inside of your computer, allowing you to run multiple operating systems and isolated from your computer. All operations are done locally on your own machine.

But I need to connect to my VPS server in order to have a new IP-address.
But I need to install PuTTY in order to be able to connect to my VPS server.
But I don't know how (where) to download PuTTY since there are so many versions of it on their download page.

They have told me that I have to use a VMware Player if I want to go stealth on the same computer I used for my suspended account.
But I have cleaned up my entire computer (removed cookies, browser fingerprint part, deleted & re-installed browsers, I use Firefox now instead of Chrome, blocked cookies & following etc.) and I have created a new User Account. I hoped that this was enough, but apparently I also have to use a VMware Player on my New User account, in combination with a VPS server if I want to go stealth.

You have lower your vmware ram to 1 gb if not it will cause it to run slow.

Uhm I don't really understand what you mean.

Do I need to lower it to 1 gb, or is it automatically at 1 gb and do I need to make it more than 1 gb?

OK so I'll assume that you meant 'You have to lower', so I'll lower it to 1 GB.

Again OP, we can't help you to the fullest extend if you don't post us your computer specifications.

Sorry if I wasnt clear enough uninstall or create another operating system on vmware but this Time on the configurations select a 1GB ram instead of 2 Gb this will prevent it from slowing down

You really don't need 1GB of RAM for Ubuntu, 512MB is plenty. Besides those numbers reflects your system's overall performance differently depending on the configuration. RAM isn't everything when it comes to performance, that's why we need the full specs of his system first.

I have a question: how do I log in on my VPS server? I mean: which version of PuTTY do I have to download? I will have a new IP-address if I use my VPS server, right? :D
I'll make a new user account to.

I have windows on my computer, I believe it is either vista or 7.

No a VPS will not change your IP. It's just a server at a remote location. You need to install your own VPN software so that you can change your IP through it.
