Why use Amazon if they can keep your money?

I remember reading that unlike paypals 180 day fund release period, amazon can straight up keep your money. If this is the case then why even bother using them?

BigCJ 12-09-2012 11:19 PM

Because if you get the formula correct, amazon can be VERY lucrative.
They have more traffic than ebay. And that is the main reason why they are on top. Also, with less foo-foos than ebay, people are more confident that things will go well.

Not all accounts have this happen.

A working amazon account is a money maker.

Get the formula right & you make bank.

Hmm maybe I should take the plunge... How is the withdrawal process? Is it similar to Paypal/eBay?

Silas 12-10-2012 02:28 AM

Payments come every 2 weeks. It will take a while to get you cleared through the review process though. Don't count on a clean payment schedule until that is complete. Even then your account status could change without warning.

Is the review process something that everyone goes through before you can sell? What should I expect from this review process?

rsot 12-10-2012 06:09 AM

Read around the Az forums - not everyone goes through it but a lot do. And it happens AFTER you start selling.

Might as well experiment.

In the last 6 months or so I have learned to love eBay/PayPal because it is so piss easy to exploit them. I could never deal with Amazon's BS and security system which doesn't seem to be anywhere near as easy to hack.

rsot 12-10-2012 06:49 AM

Pretty well broken down ha

HunterStudios 12-10-2012 10:33 AM

Definitely agree with Elijah, I have been selling on Amazon for a few years now and recently went back to eBay. I find eBay is easier to deal with customers and with the stupid seller requirements than amazon.

Amazon for me is cash king! i make 20 times as much as I do on ebay. Its wortht the risk

Imakemoney 12-10-2012 05:40 PM

All depends how well your product range sells on either platform as to whether amazon is worth the time...

This should be key when making your decision

hazy 12-10-2012 08:45 PM

Thanks for all the good input guys! I made a quick acct. and listed one thing to get the feel of it. Doesn't seem as user friendly as eBay and looks like its gonna take some experimenting and getting used to. So far I don't like it but if it will make me money...then I'm in.

Gamefreak 12-10-2012 09:38 PM

Its actually way easier than ebay. you just have to get use to it. You dont have to worry about pictures, description and any of that stuff which usually takes forever to do...

Exactly, no listing. And can be a cash king. Thousands a day.

That's true and that means no copyright violations!
