Can buyer drop AZ claim after seller refund ?

Can AMAZON buyer drop AZ claim after I issue refund ?
I have a buyer filed AZ claim against me, I sent him AMZ message to ask him to drop the AZ claim then I will issue full refund to him, also explain to him the AZ claim really hurts seller's status staying on AMAZON.
Buyer did not respond, I was thinking maybe I should issue refund to buyer 1st, then sending him message again to ask buyer to drop AZ claim, would this be possible ?

Thanks for any advices ..

once you issue refund that closes the case... no dropping it from there.

Gosh ! I am afraid so ..
Looks like it's time for me to create another stealth account .. This account is now endangered.
3 year account been sabotaged by ruthless AMAZON buyers.

You know what ? I think to stay on AMAZON, sellers would be better off just issue refund for whatever reasons buyers contact you, missing part, non-delivery .... etc. This way, at least buyers cannot file A-Z Claim any more, only the feedback to worry about, and if sellers issue refund to buyers adding a bit sweet talk, negative feedbacks could be easily avoided ....

Just my thought ...

I recently got 2 A-Z claims
1st
buyer claim not receive, USPS report delivered, buyer ask sending a new package with signature confirmation, which I did, and right before USPS could deliver the signature confirmed package, buyer file A-Z claim ... Shoot ! .. AMAZON reimbursed the buyer on the same day and close the case.
And you know what ? Package got delivered and signed on the same day at 6:30PM.

2nd
Buyer claim item does not work, I send a replacement right away, I certainly tested the item before I sent it, buyer receive it , 2 days later, file A-Z claim saying the replacement still not working.

If I had issued refund on these 2 senarios without trying to fix the issues, buyers would not have the chance to file A-Z claims, and I am sure I can sweet talk out of the negative feedbacks in these cases easily.

One senior member here used to put an axiom : "In AMAZON, if buyers want their money back, they could always get them." ........ Right on !!!

Some buyers are trule a$$holes. Really not much you can do other than sell more items to compensate for those a-z claims..

Even if a buyer drops a claim, it still counts against you on your Order Defect Rate.

I think that once you give a full refund, they cannot make a claim. And in reality, why would they? They just wanted the free item(s).

One thing you could try is preemptively giving them a percentage return, especially if you suspect foul play coming. Something like, "please accept a 25% discount refund on your order for the trouble, I will still ship out your replacement, etc." Then when they say yes, do the refund and state that you forwarded the refund information to Amazon and that Amazon is now aware that you have resolved any issues with the order. Feels more "official" that way to the buyer, often time they are less likely to pull crap, especially since they already got SOME money back.. they need to feel like they won somehow in the end.

(if that proves to not work, you can definitely do the full refund right away, but remember, if you make things super easy for the buyer, they will hit you with another A-to-z later on or tell their friends how easy it is to steal from you!)

N8zzz,

Thank you so much for the advice ...
Good strategy, BTW.

I started today my new AMAZON strategy, when buyer complain order not receive, I 1st issue full refund to prevent AZ claim, then talk buyer into dealing with their local post office, today, the irritable buyer finally got the package from his local post office and send me an AMAZON thank you letter also offer to pay me on this order, but who knows ?

Now I think N8zzz got even better counterplan than what I could figure.
Thanks a million for sharing. ...

Thank you sir, I guess you could say that I've been dealing with a*****e buyers for quite a long time. I would brainstorm things like this all the time <3

Good luck buddy!
