forgot to change computer mac adress
 

im using old computer i was suspended with and signed up for new account using vmware and tethered connection. but forgot to change computer mac adress. guess i missed that step in guide:doh: lol. I havent stared selling anything yet. should i just abandon account and start new one? thank you

I would abandon the account, and make sure you have everything written down, and how you plan to attack a new fresh account. This will also come in handy if you ever need any information to provide ebay/paypal etc. It also will help you to separate multiple or old accounts.

There are people here who say they multiple accounts without changing the Mac but I would not take their advice

The majority of people in the forum such as kelly are completely clueless when it comes to mac addresses. You will be fine as long as its just the MAC address as no organisation will be legally able to track mac addresses on any kind of scale.

Gee thanks, I said some people think you need to change it some don't. I choose to take the extra step becuase it takes two seconds for me to do.

im having trouble finding my mac adress and changing it. also im running vmware and it shows a mac adress for that?? so im confused. do i still need to change mac adress. i found the mac adresses just not sure whats what.

To find your MAC in PC type "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt

To find and change MAC in Vmware => right click on the vmware image, click setting, select NIC and go Advance

thanks found them again. but still dont know which is my computers. and dont know what mac adresses to change. using vmware with tethered cell phone connection so i believe i dont need to worry about my router/modem mac right. just dont know if i need to switch mac on computer or vmware

VMware automatically assigns a different Mac address for each os instance

It takes abut 5 minutes of research to figure out that there is not way amazon can see your MAC address. I have spoke to programmers and some experts and everyone states that the is no way amazon can see your MAC address.

If it takes you 2 minutes to change that's fine, my point is aimed at the people such as myself who when starting out had big problems changing their MAC address all for no reason. To say don't listen to the people who clearly know better them when I'm guessing you don't know how the MAC address works is annoying and very time consuming for any noobs.

I have read all the research. However, there is a chance the mac address can be sent with some software. Amazon has been able to read passwords off of my computer. I choose to go the extra mile.
