Slow amazon sales

Iv been selling on amazon now for about 6 months, over the last 2 weeks I have not sold anything, where before that in two weeks I would have run out of stock. Anyone experience slow sales, or in my case no sales at all over the last two weeks.

Thanks for your input

Did amazon restock on items you were selling? Did other sellers started selling? Its common but not on this level you speak of

steve70000 03-15-2013 02:45 PM

LOL i was wondering the same thing....sold 4 items in 1 month.....
i think everyone in the UK are skint or saving up to pay there heating bills...lol...

ebabe 03-15-2013 02:51 PM

I re-stock myself, did everything the same. Not sure how the U.S. online retail market is right now, but on amazon UK its pretty slow, for me at least, but of course Steve only sold 4 in one month, so maybe its just not me. Im wondering how I can sell on amazon U.S. but I belive amazon does not allow selling to other countires other then where the seller is located.

AZ Slow?

I hear you.. it goes in spurts. Seems like it is dead for a day or two, but then goes crazy..

check your items and the competition..

Market and traffic seems to be fine..

You may need to change your items or add new ones

ebabe 03-15-2013 03:13 PM

All my items have the lowest price green checkmark. I guess that means mine are the lowest price of the competitors?

No slowdown here. Maybe you are selling something that is not in season now?

TonyAlmeida 03-16-2013 12:13 PM

Amazon is weird, some days it sale like crazy, and sometime don't have any sale for couple days

ebabe 03-16-2013 12:49 PM

yeah, same for me, seems pretty normal. But 2 weeks of nothing so far, I hope its just the time of year or something like that, I can live with that.

prissweb 03-16-2013 01:08 PM

ditto here

Sales are in the tank. I hope this isn't a trend. I sold a lot more during the end of 2012. The start of 2013 is just sad. Is the economic climate getting that bad ? Or just wrong time of the year ?

ebabe 03-16-2013 03:54 PM

Same here Web, sales where great at the end of 2012 and into Jan, cant say the same for Feb and March though

AmazonStealth 03-16-2013 08:18 PM

Depends on the items your selling and the trends associated with them. If you do it long enough you know your peak months, average months, and low months.

I get spurts on Fridays and weekends usually after paydays around the 15th and 30th of the month. Other than that its very irratic.

hapajenn1 03-22-2013 11:23 PM

^i agree that the day and time (mornings, night, etc) matters the most.
Usually SUNDAYS I get about 2x the amount of customers as a slow weekday. Also consider the time for instance after 10pm Pacific then its 1AM on the Eastcoast and most people are sleeping.

I've been selling on Amazon for 3 years and yesterday was the first time I had only sold one item, the next day my sales shot back up so my advice would be not to panic (although, yes I panicked for a good 24 hours, ha!) I would do as the other posters say and check the competition, not just by checking if you have the lowest price in the inventory section but if there are people out there creating duplicate listing. I think this is against Amazons rules, but my general rule is to not go round reporting people and creating enemies on Amazon.

Someone as duplicated a lot of my listings and halfed the price, they already have a lot of neg feedback and the postage costs have just gone up...give them enough rope and it's pretty obvious what's going to happen to the seller one way or another

Thank god for research, the amazon ghost book and of course this forum and the people in it keeping us a few steps a head?:cheer:

Last weekend was Easter weekend so have to be aware of holidays - sales can dip.

Been more like a semi-permanent ride on The Big Dipper.

Seasonally slow which is consistent with other years.

What category do you sell in mostly ?

ebabe 05-07-2013 05:01 PM

Electronics. I did contact amazon yesterday and they told me I didnt have any nodes selected, or keywords, anyway I selected the appropriate nodes and added some keywords. I think some amazon sellers tend to get abit complacent when they click ''sell yours'' thinking that the original listing has done all the work for them, I find amazon confusion and I really dont like their format, such as if you dont see an item that you have you cant list it unless you buy barcodes. But they do have some very nice benefits and their customer service is pretty good. Just wait and see now.
