what happens when you have a negative balance and they try to charge your card

what happens when you have a negative balance and they try to charge your credit card ? I chose to refund two customers because they said their printers stopped working 3 months out. ( and i didn't want any negatives) I now have a negative balance of 140$. I just also noticed amazon is set to charge my card the amount on the 20th. My sales have been slow , i wanted to clear up my balance with sales.... But now i am worried. What will happen if i don't have enough on my cc or bank to cover the negative ? Outright ban ?

No they wont ban you for this sort of stuff. If your backup funding accounts cannot cover the amount due they will send you a notice email and ask you to cover the deficit in another manner. Hopefully you have some funds stashed somewhere else that you can transfer to them.

3 months out? They can't leave any feedback after 90 days. I would have ignored them.

I didn't know that... wow i feel dumb :(

I have had people come to me almost a year later for returns or exchanges. It seems to happen a whooooole lot more than on ebay. I have actually never had a return on ebay after a few weeks.

Thanks for the heads up , that's exactly what happen. I got a very nice and non threatening email telling me to just update my cc info. The next change date is some time in April.

If the OP wasn't aware of the timeframe, at least they know now. :)

The credit card is the one to worry about, Amex is the one that lets their members file chargebacks over the phone with no problems and usually gives them more than 90 days to be able to do so.

Dont be fooled that this is an absolute.

Some what we term professional buyers can persuade staff in amazon/ebay to allow them to bypass the system.

They get to leave feedback AND get to do more damage.

Amazon is quite flexible on the feedback timeline :(
