Amazon blocked my account....what happens now....

Today I tried to purchased AMAZON GIFT CARDS using the remaining balances from my VANILLA VISA GIFT CARDS.....I purchased 19 AMAZON GIFT CARD(all under $20.00) yesterday with no problem but today I purchased 10 more Amazon Gift Cards and now I've been block out of my account.....I called AMAZON and they told me I have to wait on a email from an account specialist to proceed further....Does anybody knows what's going to happen now?? Has this happen to anyone else?? Thanks...

TonyAlmeida 04-02-2013 06:18 PM

what you mean by "Blocked"?

Is there any email from them?
What is the exact email?
What error you get when login?
Have you used all your gife card?

You purchased 19 gift cards. Did you not at any point think that might look a little bit suspicious

rsot 04-02-2013 07:50 PM

Very odd behaviour - Amazon is wise on to this - I think they blocked you but they wont charge you for the remaining cards you tried to buy

no Email as of yet.....I called and they said my account has on hold and I have to wait 24 hours for an account specialist to contact me via Email.....No, I haven't used any of the gift cards.....I'm not able to logg into my account and print them.....

You're right.....I slipped up. I figured that I was purchasing small dollar gift cards that there wouldn't be any problems...all under $20 dollars......We learn from our mistakes, right?? I just hope they refund me or let me print the purchased gift cards....

TonyAlmeida 04-02-2013 09:31 PM

How you bough the giftcard? email, print, mail?

Woah!

OP, you need to re-evaluate your business plan.

Should have consulted here before such a risky procedure.

We know how wise amazon are to many tricks.

Fingers crossed for a good outcome

Any reason you bought 19, instead of a $500, $500, and $100 ?

user3657 04-03-2013 12:37 AM

^^^^could of also split them up, some for gas, some to pay cell, some to pay ebay fees....

TonyAlmeida 04-03-2013 01:22 AM

This is Amazon gift card, not prepaid debit card

Yah resale is most likely. Either way you made a silly mistake and as mentioned, next time get some advice first. At least it only seems like a buying account. Wold me much worse if it was an established selling account.

Sigh - from my dealings on Az, good luck on getting a specialist to call or e-mail...they are not good on that

I don't understand, how do they make any money doing this if they sell them on ebay? Isn't a $19 gift card only going to sell for $19 or less?

slapped 04-06-2013 11:01 PM

It is a Pretty good bet that you will not see that Money ever again, and Please do not come back with a Post saying that Amazon Cannot do it because they Do, ALL THE TIME,,,if you are the REAL Owner of that account, then I imagine if you make enough Noise, and Proivide them with enough Proof, then they will give you your money,,but if its a Stealth account, well, it would seem tha GOGETTER was GOTTEN

TonyAlmeida 04-07-2013 11:13 AM

Amazon gift card can be sold more than the face value on ebay

Mr. Invisible 04-07-2013 04:21 PM

:suspicious: WTF! Why would someone buy a gift card over face?

Is this increased demand from stealth account holders looking to cash out in other ways?!?!?

BigCJ 04-07-2013 04:54 PM

Easier ways to cash out of their paypal accounts. If you have 150 in a paypal, some wouldnt mind chopping off 25 bucks to get the 125 out.
especially if its a debit gift card. go to your local PO, make a PO money order and there you go. Cash in hand.

Usually doesnt sell more than face value unless intense competition but...a bit of loss for cashout is accepted by many

12-15% transaction costs to sell. Then another 15% or so hit on the gift card cash out? I take it the items sold have some REALLY good margins lol

TonyAlmeida 04-07-2013 07:24 PM

Go there and use their search button and you will see it
