Changing internet providers?

I have read a lot of posts stating that changing your IP address is a must, but is it enough?

I can change mine no problem but would it be possible for Amazon to know which internet service provider you use and log a record of this or would this be impossible for them to do?

I know they must have loads of sellers all using BT / Virgin etc but could changing providers be another step towards appearing you are someone else?

I think changing providers would be a much bigger hassle than its worth.

I know I can manage many, many accounts by simply changing my IP with the same internet provider. I know others manage significantly more than me using the same method so I think changing your IP is sufficient.

@SellingKing, the straight reality is that for AMAZON, changing IP is NOT enough. Few other steps to follow - most of which are covered on the forums or in the Ghost guide. Reading time :thumb:

Do you believe the MAC address needs to be changed. I used to, but after so many people saying not to worry about it, I don't. I change IPs and use Vmware on three different accounts. Accounts fine so far after six weeks

I'm aware of the other steps that need to be taken and have those all in place. I just want my new account to be as water tight as possible.

I've also been curious about the MAC address. I have to change mine in order to get a new IP so once I'm ready to start the new account will be changing it. I have heard it is a good idea to buy a new router. Would anyone else recommend this?

What is Vmware and what does it do?

Lot of mixed feelings on my part about the MAC address - still worth taking the time to change it. A big key idea is browser fingerprinting (search the big thread on this forum).
