Google voice not working

Well I used the same cell phone number to obtain the last three google voice phone numbers, but for some reason I keep getting this error when trying to get a phone number.

"There was an error with your request. Please try again."

I've tried different area codes and at least a couple hundred numbers.

Is there a limit to the number of google numbers you can get when you give them the same phone number?

I need to get this other stealth account up and running so if this isn't going to work I need another free option. What about these online free forwarding service? Are these safe to use or have all these numbers likely been used by stealthers and will lead to a ban?

By the way I called Magic Jack and Trac phone and they told me they can not guaranty that the number I get is a brand new number that has never been used. That seems to be the case no matter what you use

dallasreed 04-23-2013 06:37 PM

Yes there is a limit on how many GV accounts you can make with one phone number.

Kelly441 04-23-2013 06:58 PM

I figured. Now I don't see anyway to go into the settings and change the number I gave them.

It's annoying that they dont tell you that in the error. I wasted a couple hours clicking on numbers

So what are my other free options?

AuctionsDenied 04-23-2013 09:39 PM

One tracphone will get you a few more google numbers including the tracphone. Do you have a home phone, use that too.

dallasreed 04-24-2013 10:04 AM

One method floating around the forum is to use a skype number. Then you can use the skype number to make more GV accounts.

TonyAlmeida 04-25-2013 11:26 AM

Did you find a solution Kelly?

Thank you

I used my Magic Jack number.

When I need more I will just change my Magic Jack number for $10, I think Trac Phones are $30?

TonyAlmeida 04-25-2013 11:37 AM

is there an exact limit to the # of numbers Google Voice can be attached to one number? for some reason I tried earlier and it wouldn't let me attach a second number to my cell but it let me attach 2 numbers to my landline ..

Dmshark25 05-29-2013 05:38 AM

Use Text Plus app for iPhone and android get any number for free u choose numbers from any state and Canada just make multiple accounts all u need is a different email for each number, I used this and have almost 30 working numbers that were used to confirm my ebay seller accounts and Anytime You need to call ebay / Paypal which is never u just log into the account with your corresponding phone number

Wes 05-29-2013 02:32 PM

If you search around, tracfones can cost $10.00

I found one for $19.00 & free postage. Bit more than usual but I did not mind.

????? Do you mean per month?

Sounds like you have used your cell before already a few times and you have forgotten.

Check your records to see.

for the tracphone, once you buy the device , do you need to keep active minutes in order for the tel # to be valid? or does the minutes attached "expire" and therefore the tel # becomes invalid?

for instance, the AT&T GoPhone (disposable phone, like tracphone), you can buy the device for $10... but the minutes attached expire about 30 days, then the Tel # is useless.......so if AZ or EB calls the tel # they will get the message its not valid.......

GreenBean 06-01-2013 11:10 PM

@hapajenn1

90 days for so many minutes. Can be topped up. That's a plan I use

No AU IP to access - oh wait, maybe with Logmein or Teamviewer but that's a bit beyond my need to experiment. Thanks :)
