FBA use with Ebay
 

I have a deal on some items, and the wholesaler will waive shipping if I send them to FBA.

So - I have ordered the items, and am new to amazon. I'm thinking I'll do a pro account, and list the items. If I don't like it, I can convert later. I hope to sell the initial order in 30 days to test it out, but they may not sell in that time - not sure yet. I'll have to pay with pricing to try to move them quickly.

I was thinking of listing some on Amazon, and some on Ebay. The question is - am I going to get killed with shipping fees if I use FBA to ship Ebay orders?

Also - I am not quite clear on Amazon's shipping with the Pro account. Is it waived for buyers, or do they tack it onto the price the buyer pays?

After this initial purchase, I'll probably buy more from these folks, as I like what they offer. With quantity purchases, they'll do the free shipping to FBA, but not to me, so I hope to use FBA more.

Why would you not want to see the items you are ordering?

ebay does not have anything like a FBA program.

What might kill you quicker than you realize is the amazon account going down and your not being able to cover ebay sales. Where's your contingency plan there?

Thanks for the responses. The reason to go FBA is because the seller waives shipping charges if they send it right to Amazon.

I think I'll try to negotiate with the seller to buy the same quantity as is required for their FBA deal, but have them send them to me instead. Then, I have them, and can sell them on both platforms. I do worry about ebay feedback if FBA takes some time to fulfill the order, becuase my current feedback is very high.

Originally, I planned to only sell them on Amazon, but I'll rethink that. Ebay is bad enough - sounds like Amazon is worse.

Amazon will kill an account a lot quicker than eBay will, that is for sure. But, if you have legitimate items to sell and you act professionally, you should not have problems on Amazon.

In your place - if you want to fulfill eB orders with Az FBA, I would do some test purchases - yes it will cost some money but worth seeing what the turnaround time is. Then you can make decisions based on that.

You got some gung-ho advice from rsot.

If you are new to either selling platform, I would suggest waiting until you know both of them well.

Getting something going with the Global Shipping program for US accounts - an atrocious program with the fees and such and specific to USA only-based accounts ugh...someone posted some experience with this in another thread

I may be understanding this all wrong, but if the company is sending the inventory straight to Amzn, then you will have to pay Amzn to label the items. So that may be just as expensive as shipping, depending on what you are selling and how much.

I would do as GreenBean suggests and learn how they work before you dive in and get in WAY over your head (and in debt).

Multi-channel fulfillment can get kind of expensive.. we used it as a last ditch effort when we unexpectedly didn't have the stock needed on hand. If you ship larger items, it tends to be more beneficial than smaller. If someone order 2 or more of something and you use multi-channel, it is much more cost effective. But most likely there is not many situations where you would save money over shipping it yourself.
