Where can I find the "routers set up page"?

I am going through the instructions for creating an new Amazon account. I have a new computer to use but I'm working on changing the IP address of my internet connection.

Really, I'm not sure what type of set up I have as far as internet connection. I have one box that's connected to a phone line that was installed by the internet company (not an actual phone line that you can use to make calls on). The box is wireless so I don't have a computer actually hooked up to it.

I'm at the point of the Amazon ghost guide where it says to go to your routers set up page and type 192.168.0.1 into your internet browser.

I guess I'm computer illiterate because I have no idea how to "go to my routers set up page"! lol

1st question: between that box that gives you the connection to a "phone line", you have not other boxes right? That box is then your modem and router. Go to ipburger.com. Write the IP down. Now turn off the modem box, wait a bit and restart. Now look at ipburger.com again - is your IP different? Than likely you IP provider is dynamic

There is only that one box. I have unplugged it for about 10 seconds and plugged it back up and checked the ipburger site and it was showing the same ip address.

10 seconds not long enough and to get in your modem the address may not be 192 blah blah you need to google how for your specific modem to access it

I haven't even gotten to entering the 192 number, I don't know where to enter it at. Trying to figure out where the routers set up page. Would this be much easier to just go buy a new router/modem? I'm leaning more and more towards that option.

You enter the 192 in your browser just like where you would put yahoo.com or whatever page you are trying to navigate to

For some homes, the internet set-up would exclude doing this. ( Long story ).

Go to IP Burger - Track Your IP Address! ( aspkin created this whizz).

Get your IP from that.

Then go to What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more... Enter your IP. That will give you info about the sort of IP you have.

If the word 'static' shows, then you need different options. Even if dynamic shows, you might have the type of set-up where it is not possible to change anything.
Right at the moment, you need to work this out.
Then you take the next steps.

Try more than 10 seconds first of all - like 2-3 min.
