Reformat IPhone to use again on Amazon
 

I have been gone for a while, thankfully because I haven't had any issues with Amzn. I do have a question though about using an iPhone that was used on a suspended account.

I hope this is not already posted somewhere, because if it is, I cannot find it (I am sure it is though, because I cannot be the only one with this question).

My husband has an iPhone and used it with our suspended Amzn accounts. We have been up and running with our new account for about 9 mnths now and have had no issues. I purchased a new cell so I had no issues logging into the new account. He on the other hand still has the same phone and texts me a million times a day on what the total is, etc etc, since he cannot check it himself. ANNOYING.

So the question is- is there a way to reformat your phone, change the ip or mac or whatever it is that LINKS you with Amzn on a cell that has been used before or do you have to bite the bullet and purchase a new phone??

No, you do not have to purchase a new iPhone

Speaking from personal experience, all you have to do is Reset All Settings on the phone and clear your cookies/history, and that's it!

Once you do that, you delete Amazon's "tracking cookie" on your phone so Amazon won't be able to recognize you anymore ...

First, You can't change the MAC address on a smartphone but you can change the IP address. I will give you the same advice I give people wanting to use Ebay apps, don't. Apps have a tendency of tracking more than just IPs. Your alternative is using a Browser such as "Atomic Web" for Iphone which is more flexible and works well with Stealth.

We check the site via our web browser on the phone, not an app. And it's for Amzn not Ebay, does that matter??

If you use a browser then you should be fine but I do suggest Atomic Web. The browser allows you to make yourself look like you are using several different browsers.

Most of the info on the forum is related to ebay & the iphone.

Pay attention to MM78`s discussions about the iPhone - Amazon is VERY advanced on their linking - I would not venture on an AZ working account with a phone that has been used on a banned account

I told my hubby and he doesn't want to risk it. So we worked out an update of 10am and 2pm LOL. Thanks for all the advice! :)
