Another Dongle Question, Techie Advice?

Sorry for submitting another dongle thread, but there's a couple things I would like to point out and maybe get some clarity on.

To start with the facts:

I have 2 verizon dongles, both the same model, each having their own separate sim card.

I have found that by reconnecting the dongles, that the last 4 digits of the IP will change. However, both dongles are sharing the same set of IP addresses! In other words, the first 7 digits of both dongles are the same, while they both cycle through any random 4 last digits.

This means that at some point, they could potentially be on the same IP address.

Mind=blown

Is this because I'm using both dongles in the same city? The presumption being, if both dongles are accessing the same Verizon tower/signal, they are assigned a variance of only up to 9999 (4 digits).
(edit: this is wrong, the last 3 digits can only go up to 255. Meaning there are only up to 2,550 different IP address for my area. Example of lowest possible IP I can possibly get: 70.199.150.0 and example of highest IP I can possibly get: 70.199.159.255)

This would then be the case of anybody in my city using a Verizon dongle. In other words, tracking IP addresses on these Verizon dongles for account linking would be way too inaccurate. That would be like saying that some guy who lives 15 miles from me, also using a Verizon dongle, could potentially get my account banned because he randomly got the same IP address as me at some point.

My questions:

1. Would a different model of Verizon dongle get a completely different IP address? (I'm assuming no, but thought I should ask anyway)

2. Does this prove well enough that IP addresses (in this situation) would not be used as a reliable method of linking?

3. Is there any safety benefit for me to go with another carrier all together? This just seems ridiculous to me.. like every time an account gets banned I'm going to switch over to one of the 4 major carriers.. it's not really feasible, at least not in the way I'm thinking about it.

Thx for any help

(PS I cannot begin logging IP addresses as I have used my original dongle to connect hundreds of times without logging. Even if I were to begin meticulously logging from this point forward, I would never know if I crossed paths over a previous IP from one of my prior hundreds of log ins)

edit: (to make this even more analytically loaded) please read
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...are_not_people

------quote from the link:-------
"IP addresses are just that, addresses, not humans. Due to the shortage of available IPv4 addresses and the way that ISPs manage their networks, most IP addresses change often. For residential internet access, this means that the IP address typically changes every few days to few weeks. Corporate static IPs seldom change, but still can anytime the business changes service type or ISP, as each ISP has a limited number of addresses that they can use. This makes it impossible for anyone to reliably track the contribution history of any unregistered user beyond a period of a few days to a few weeks. This is one reason why unregistered users are unaccountable for their previous edits.

In short, registered accounts are required to be controlled by a single person, by policy. IP addresses, however, may be controlled by 12 different people in one year, or hundreds of different people in one day. This is because the IP isn't a human, it is simply a routing address, similar in some ways to your phone number. Unlike a phone number, most IPs aren't assigned to individual humans, but on an "as needed" basis."

Each dongle provider has a set range of IP's they are assigned. If you want a different range of IP's, get a dongle from a different provider.

No. IPs come from the quota supplied by the ISP

it proves little except amazon may or may not go along with your theory

Apart from the hyperbole, what are you thinking about?

In less than a thousand words you might have asked something like this.

Please recommend a suitable way to have multiple stealth amazon accounts.
I already have a verizon dongle.
Should I wear a tin foil hat?

Answer would be to consider using another provider's dongle & spread access.
Tin foil hats are not mandatory for stealth.
The End.

1. No - not at all - as long as the model gives IP, you are good to go.

2. IP can link accounts so keep tracking of which IP is being used.

3. No - not really needed but if you have the time, money and resources...and accounts - more IP access is nice

Thanks for the replies. If the responses to my question 2 are true, then I would advise people to never use their phone to access their amazon accounts.. or anything that is 3g or 4g for that matter.

If this is the case, then one should never use a dongle either to connect to an Amazon/ebay account at all. Because if you're sharing a finite number of IP addresses, which are assigned on an "as needed basis," then it would be likely to trip over an IP address of another Amazon seller who has been on that 4g network at any point prior.

Therefore, logging my own IP addresses would be futile. It would be like logging my steps on a field of landmines so that I know where it is safe to step next time.

PS Anyone that lives in the Valley, do not use a Verizon dongle to connect to Amazon. You might trip over one of my old IP addresses on my suspended account. I also logged in on my Verizon phone, so don't log in using that method either. That range of IP addresses may extend throughout all of LA so maybe don't use Verizon for any part of LA.

But hundreds - even thousands of people would have access to same IP at any given timeframe - IP is a link but a light one depending on activity. You might be analyzing this a bit too hard...

Are any of these deep and meaningful questions making things easier for you to create stealth accounts?
If the response is affirmative, well done to you.

On the other hand, if your progress is being impeded, then take a moment to reflect.
If amazon wants to suspend an account, amazon will do just that.
Work off the posts outlining what to do. Take a quantum leap & reduce the over-analysing. It's futile to try to be stealth otherwise.

ty GB, since I posted it I have come to some major conclusions about how to conduct things. My super analyses usually come when there's only one last thing that I'm unclear about or holding me back. Also I wanted to fix any holes in my stealth plan in case Amazon ever tightens down on their tracking methods. I finally have all the pieces to my puzzle and will be able to create a few "platinum" accounts that I can feel good about.

Excellent.

I hope it is a harbringer of brighter things regarding a new stealth career.

I like the idea of "few" as opposed to one :thumb:
