Why buy greendot or any other card
 

I've been having a question going through my head for a while now. Why buy greeddot cards or any other card when it's much easier to create a BOA account and get a debit card with it. The benefit of using one undermines a greendot card. I get a an account I can use to deposit my in, I dont have to worry about amazon's random credit card checks if my greendot card has expired and "It's free" so why pay for a greendot card for one use. What's the point?

A prepaid card is just one way of attaching a bank account to ur Paypal account , yes of course you can open a real bank account but some of us need 100's of accounts and its never good to do this with just one bank. Also prepaid cards have advantages like never worrying about your account being overdrawn if Paypal decides to dip its greedy hands in your account

We do suggest avoiding using a bank issued card with your real name on it & the chance of address variations.

VCCs are proven more suitable for stealth.

You don't want to use a bank issued debit card for stealth because your real name and address will come up , you can only use the bank account

Should only come up if you a) provide it to the platform or b) you upload fund (or Amazon pulls out funds) - rare events.

A couple of weeks ago, amazon checked one of my green dot cards that had no funds and was basically inactive. They told me I needed to update my credit card information. My question to you is, If that had been my BOA card, will amazon have gotten my real name seeing as how you said they can only do that if they pull out funds.

If they fund are pulled AND you have given consent for any service (including Az) to pull it, a sender receipt is generated with the name of the owner of the account...so yes, but only if successful transaction is done.

My old accounts have my BOA visa cards, if I close them will amazon still get my name even though it's inactive.

Like not - if no transaction has been done then no name receipt would be generated

It's not good to use a real bank card for stealth because not only will they link you based on the name behind the card, but if Amazon tries to charge your card for a debt, they'll take it out of the same account you received your deposit into.
