| mycaseydances | 06-03-2013 05:45 PM | Amazon asking for tax info to create a new account I am in the process of creating a ghost account and have everything ready but I'm confused when it comes to filing out that IRS tax form. If I enter my real name and SSN does Amazon use this to link my old account to the new one? If I enter my real info for the IRS it will not match the info used to open the Amazon account. What are you suppose to do for the IRS forms? Also, I thought they used to only asked for that after you reached 200 sales or $20,000? Do they do require this when you sign up for a seller account now? Any advise is appreciated. |
| n8zzz | 06-03-2013 05:56 PM | This would be news to me. I'm going to create a new account today.. will post new info that I find. It could be that based on other information that you entered, you raised some sort of flag to begin with. There's plenty of info about the tax id stuff throughout the forum for you to check out in the meantime.
Honestly, I would loooove it Amazon required tax id upon account creation. So I'll cross my fingers, but I'm thinking it was just something you did ^^; |

| n8zzz | 06-03-2013 08:05 PM | GB the last pro account I signed up for was about 7 or 8 months ago and didn't have to do the tax ID. Is this a new thing then? Sorry if this was widely talked about already, I wasn't paying close attentions to the forum at that time so I wouldn't have received any news on it =/ |
| mycaseydances | 06-03-2013 08:30 PM | Yes, I signed up for a pro account. I need a pro account so that I can create listings. But what info do I use for the IRS forms? If this is in another forum, can you send me a link? I have looked for it but can't find it. |
| n8zzz | 06-03-2013 10:54 PM | Whatever tax information that you're giving to Amazon is the same tax information that you use when doing you taxes. For example, if you're using your own EIN or SSN, you treat it as normal income (form 1040). Whatever information you give Amazon may be confirmed by the IRS, this is why it is important for it to be accurate. The IRS will only confirm or deny the information you provided Amazon, they will not offer any new info, there is no need to worry about that. I'm not sure if you're asking something beyond that, but that's the best answer I can give you from your wording ^_^ |

| n8zzz | 06-04-2013 01:09 AM | Oh, right, I thought that part was obvious, lol. Yes you are correct, you cannot use your SSN if it was attached to an account that was previously suspended :thumb: |
| mycaseydances | 06-04-2013 09:32 AM | So, how do you do the IRS tax forms when you make a stealth account? |

So, how do you do the IRS tax forms when you make a stealth account? | Best place is to first go look at the forms on the Internal Revenue Service site then see what to do. If in doubt after that, seek professional tax advice. |

To ensure there are not errors etc, we refer users to taking professional tax advice.
A read of the below site Internal Revenue Service
helps. It is user friendly. Then a tax consultant will help finalise issues.
Good Luck
