Funds are scheduled to be deposited today. Been just over 2 weeks, $2400 in closed sales, $3000 including pending. Cross between merchant and FBA. No account review as of yet. Is this a good sign?

TonyAlmeida 06-24-2013 04:32 PM

Definitely yes, but wait till the money hit the bank :)

Gamefreak 06-24-2013 05:46 PM

I have an account that grosses 15k a month that is 2 years old and have NOT been through a single review to date.

Good sign yes, you probably have good feedback

jeffweico 06-24-2013 06:23 PM

Sometimes, Amazon will review your account without letting you know they are doing so. Still, this IS a good sign.

chilaxincoro 06-24-2013 06:32 PM

Yes this is great news :) when your money clears into your bank then its even better news.

derp1234 06-24-2013 07:15 PM

At what point should I expect the velocity limit review to kick in. I know it is inevitable. The account that was closed from me grossed $750K last year and that account had a review by this time.

Gamefreak 06-24-2013 07:27 PM

The day you get a negative or a-z claim you should expect a review. Also expect one around the 10k mark

Yes, and buyer messages can also trigger it. Especially if it involves a return or a mis-described item.

Good point.

Those words from a buyer can trip the bots.

Always like walking on ice

Hmm... now I have the urge to message a bunch of the competition to inquire about their phake merchandise :p

It wouldn't do much. For Amazon to notice, it would have to come from an actual buyer complaint. And misdescribed items are not limited to counterfeits - sometimes the CONDITION is HORRIBLY MISDESCRIBED.

BRAND NEW = Book was dropped into a mud puddle, but thankfully I was near the swimming pool and threw the book in to clean the mud off. Then, I let it air dry, but dropped my peanut butter and jelly sandwich on it, creating a nice smear when I tried to wipe it off. I was still trying to clean it when I was crossing the street, so I didn't notice that car coming and I dropped the book and jumped back to avoid being hit. The car ran over the book, so there are some tire marks and it also crushed the spine. I was so angry I ended up throwing the stupid book in a wood-chipper on the way home, when I realized that I don't want to lose any money on this, so I gathered up the pieces and am listing it here. If you can ignore those tiny imperfections, then the book is JUST LIKE BRAND NEW!

^^ that sounds like it actually happened or something a seller would put in the description.

I have 5 accounts over 4 months old and only one has gone under review and they gross over $5000 a month.

I think reviews are triggered, it's not automatic

5k a month?! Nice ...

If I could ask, what type of items are you selling?

Many popular categories - research is doable with a search

I do not believe rsot even sells anything on Amazon.

Could be wrong but I dont remember him posting anything about ever selling on Amazon.

rsot 07-12-2013 01:57 PM

There are a few posts of my sales on Amazon - I still dabble but I was pretty gungho in 2010 up until accounts started being DELETED by Az (that was annoying, frustrating, and without just cause...so I said goodbye to big sales on it). Now, I do light activity and some testing.

Since I dont have a lot of great sales on Amazon, I dont do a lot of posts on it. But I am well-versed with it :) ...dial-up ways though hah
