| quantum773 | 07-18-2013 10:42 AM | How much should I sell? Hey guys, I have a 4 day old stealth account and just got my first sale today. Feels nice to get that item sold message again. My question is how much should I be selling every month? I know I should keep it below 750 on my first month, but what about the second and third months?
Also, I'm in the middle of establishing a new bank account for my second stealth. Just curious for all those 50+ stealth accounters out there, do you guys have 50+ bank accounts? |
| barrycruan | 07-18-2013 03:18 PM | The $750 does not really apply anymore. It did do a few years ago but now you are going to get a review, there is no real way around it unless you get very very lucky.
The most important thing is that when you do get that review, make sure your feedback is good. Try and have feedback for at least 10% of all orders and make sure all of the other metrics are good. |
| AmaStealth | 07-18-2013 10:40 PM | If you sign up as a professional seller, you should only get a rolling reserve placed on your account while it's under review. If you're an individual seller, they will most definitely put you under the mandatory 30-day review, and you won't be able to withdraw any money. |
| jeffweico | 07-18-2013 11:10 PM | Every account on Amazon gets reviewed at some point. Sometimes it can happen when you have sold $50 worth of stuff. Other times you may get lucky and it only happens when you hit $2000. The $750 is a guideline that has been used successfully by many members here. The thing is, the more you sell, the higher a risk you are to Amazon and the more critical they are of your account. Keeping the sales on the low side for a couple of months - at least until you get some decent metrics - will help you to pass the review.
But if Amazon reviews your account and they do not like what they see, they will close the account no matter if you are signed up as an individual seller or a professional seller. It all depends on what you are selling, how many complaints you have, how many items have on-time delivery, your feedback, etc. |
| barrycruan | 07-19-2013 04:14 AM | The $750 was an actual number that amazon reviewed you at in the past. There was a similar figure for the UK. However its not relevant now as you say, a review can happen any time and on my best account I got my first review at £50. Start slow and in the second to 3rd month you can branch out. A review is inevitable so make sure you are prepared for when it happens. |
Also keep in mind OP that all these forum discussions are general guidelines for AZ - nothing is 100%...accounts have been reviewed well before $750...and some dont get reviewed at all... |
| nebuspp | 07-21-2013 12:40 PM | I have sold wayyyy over 20k worth of stuff on an account before without any review. One of my recent accounts got a review after $13 :snicker: |
| slba34g | 07-21-2013 08:30 PM | If I sell just 3 items a week for about $60 each, would this be any reason for Amazon to look at my account if I am receiving positive feedback?
Before I knew that there would be an issue, I sold about 200 items in 3 weeks and received a lot of positive feedback with no negatives. I ended up getting a review from Amazon (I think because of my sales volume) which I did not respond to and I got shut down as a seller. |
| studio | 07-24-2013 09:52 AM | just out of interest does anyone know what difference FBA makes to new sellers limits before review / how easy it is to pass review? I mean Amazon have physically seen the goods and know they have been delivered to the customer so that is at least half their worries gone already |
| a.v.limited | 07-25-2013 05:12 PM | depends on fb, 500-600gbp without much fb. more than that needs to be backed up by fb |

| quantum773 | 07-31-2013 09:00 AM | account just got suspended this morning. It says my account failed the review process and to appeal the decision, please refer to "velocity limits and account reviews".
Now from everyone's experience, does this mean I hit the velocity limit? or does this mean the account's dead? I've sold 1k in 3 weeks. |
| barrycruan | 07-31-2013 03:21 PM | I see you turned over more than $1000 in 3 weeks from another post. I dont think that amount alone would get you canned, but since it was only 4 items im guessing you had no feedback?
Everyone has a different opinion but I have never lost a stealth account and the two things that I think are absolutely crucial to passing/ not getting reviewed early are good feedback and selling items that are in no way high risk. You broke both them rules.
I know its annoying having to wait but in the long run it is more than worth it. if you are selling cell phones you really need to make sure your account has some good feedback with I would say at least a 100 sales from low value no risk/ no violation items. After the first month or so I would slowly start to list the phones. If you start now you can have a solid account in time for Christmas. |

You don't have anything to lose. If you don't appeal, then the account IS dead. The thing about appeals on Amazon is, you CAN win them, unless you were suspended for a "severe" violation. Of course, there are no guarantees. But it doesn't hurt to try. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:13 AM. | |
