Why is it suggested not to use a VPN service?
 

Hi all. I’ve read the Ebay Stealth guide and searched through the forums but I can not find the reason so many users of this site scream “Do NOT use a VPN.” I’m in NZ and wish to appear to be in the US, so I don’t have the option of simply changing my router’s MAC address to initiate a new ip address.

Can someone explain why the users of this site are against VPN services, and what is suggested in its place for overseas users?

A VPN can be used, just not any on the first 10 pages or so of a Google search. This is because amazon/ebay/paypal already know about them (they have been heavily used in the past).

If you wish to use a VPN service, you must look at least 15 pages deep in your search.

VPN's are simple not as good as a VPS due to the way that they work.

If you need a service like this, go with VPS, and go 15 pages deep on Google. Expect to pay for this service.

What would the ebay stealth have to do with amazon? Issues are really different.


Do you put your hand on a hot stove to see if it will burn?

If you do, then go with VPN.

However if you are more sensible, you will come to understand that there are certain ways with stealth to start again.
We have asked so many users who say they were suspended from amazon, what did you use for the internet.
List is long of VPN being used.

Far too many users made that choice of VPN without success. Because of this we prefer to recommend other options.

Your viable alternative would be VPS..... think of this as VPN's older smarter brother.

I see your point but saying go 15 pages deep is not really the best advice. True amazon are well aware of the most popular VPNs but they are not stopping at the 15th page.

VPN is not really a long term solution, unless you want plenty of sleepless nights waiting for the inevitable to happen and it will. Most people know to stay away from the popular VPN services so they do the same, look for unknown VPn sites. Amazon/Ebay also know this and are constantly watching for new VPNs. So sooner or later you will be caught.

If you need to appear in the USA then its worth paying someone to go explain and set up a decent VPS service. There is absolutely no long term involved when it comes to VPN and thats why all of the experienced stealthers avoid it.
