UK VAT - What & when will I get billed by Amazon

Opened a few of Amazon seller pro accounts with techniques found on this forum and elsewhere. When signing up, Amazon says that if you don't enter a VAT number, it will bill you your VAT charges off the credit card you provided.

The question is, why would Amazon charge VAT and when will they do this?

I used VCCs for signup verification, so am concerned.

VAT is on your seller fees, which is charged at Luxembourg rate which I think is 7%. This will be taken from your disbursement in with charges. If you are VAT registered then you pay nothing to Amazon.

You need to take professional tax advice to make sure you are covered for VAT & taxes in the UK.

Have you read thro' the extensive section on VAT on amazon co uk?
