Default Using friends computer for account creation

Question-

read the GHOST guide last night and I am nearly done setting up. Few questions...
1. I have set up name/etc. and for an address I set up a NY address. I'm in VA- there was something about being 100 miles away from your address you set up...how strict is this? Does it really matter?

2. I have Comcast as an internet provider and have a dual mode telephone/router Modem (can't spoof an IP I have to get a NEW modem- which I'm working on...) I can't use dial up as I don't have a phone line (real landline one).
a) Can I use a friend's PC to set up the account elsewhere- and if I do and login here and use my new machine (virtual/new profile on PC-login, etc) will that work? or will I have to login from the SAME MACHINE or a free-wifi location each time I access the account to not risk getting banned?

Thanks guys!

your plan is not good. You can NEVER login from a previous IP and Windows user account.

get a 3G dongle or tether your phone. a new modem will NOT change your IP.

I found out how to change my IP using Comcast last night from the forums and I can do that fine. What if I change my IP as well?

The golden rule is don't get anyone that you know (friends, family members) involve into your business. It will save you lot of headache later on.

If you are not get ready just take time to prepare for yourself. Do it slowly and do it right and you will be in the game as many of us here.

If you used a friend PC, what happen if later your friend want to do business with Amazon? Think about it.

She's 81. I doubt it :P Lol. But you are right.
If I go to a Free wi-fi place and do it, would I have to use that location EVERY TIME I login?

ok. I read that you could in the Amazon Stealth Book. Oops. I guess that's been updated since then, huh?

I gotta wait on this modem, then...off to ebay I go for a *NEW* one. I'm not going to take my chances on a refurb. too risky, don't ya think?

Oh heck no, Tony...not a new PC- new MODEM. I have a combined Tele/etc modem for Comcast.

Searched on it this morning.

Can change IP - CHECK
CAN'T change MAC-

have to get a new modem.

So I'm working on that on. I can't spoof a MAC address on a dual modem- which is what I've got. I have to get a new one or go through a bunch of *****.

I've been through enough ***** this week...soo...

I got 2 refurbs otw for modems (Arris Touchstone Telephony Cable Modem TM502G VOIP
and
Arris Touchstone Telephony Cable Modem TM602G VOIP)

Also got a new netbook otw as well (el cheapo)

with that...and the VMware...I should have a few accounts to work with in a few days with the help of some wonderful sellers on here and some VCC's.

Hopefully that will work.
I don't think the modem's have wifi. But I don't really need it....makes things more complicated....

Think they will work if I change the IP's? My IP's are static so I found out how I could change 'em...

- Netbook is not a laptop and don't know you can run VMware on it or not, need others to confirm on this.

- The 2 modem you mention above I never hear them and no nothing about them. But this one is working good for me and others here
Motorola SURFboard SB5100 Cable Modem + Power & Ethernet Cord (ebay item number 321156951272 and it is not my own listing )

Yeah but a netbook will get me by for now. I basically use netbooks when I'm at my fiancee's which is quite a bit now...my big mama (home pc) I will use VMware on.. I will use dongle's, etc on the netbook and swap up to change when I need to.

He doesn't have internet and I don't use them at his house. I have to go elsewhere to get a signal...like out. I just use netbooks b/c they are portable.

If you're advising someone in US about a dongle, remember to say 4g dongle. There is no reason to send someone out on a mission to find old 3g technology which doesn't work nearly as fast. 'Merica
