Anti virus
 

Is it possible that AZ can see the antivirus program you are using, or am I paranoid?

Was thinking through browser fingerprinting. Setting up new account, but using old antivirus program with old serial #.

Browser fingerprinting yes, antivirus program no...the antivirus program stays local.

When in doubt, it's good to clarify - you probably arent the only one with question Phd - never need to be sorry :thumb:

All jokes aside, you're definitely not being paranoid, it is always good to ask if unsure. And this is a good topic to discuss & educate.

Here is what most browser fingerprinting software will detect...

User agent (Windows, MAC, iOS, Linux)
Screen resolution & depth
Timezone
Local & session storage
Browser plugins (Skype, Facebook, Adobe software, Steam etc)


The only way your antivirus program is detected, is if you installed a browser plugin for it (such as a spyware or adware plugin).

If you have just a standalone antivirus program, then it cannot be detected through browser fingerprinting.
