Multiple accounts with one bank
 

I have 5 bank accounts with Wells Fargo. I am trying to open other bank accounts with different banks to have backup accounts if/when the other stealth accounts get suspended/deleted. However, I am in the Chex system and am having trouble opening new accounts.

Has anyone been successful having 5 or so bank accounts with the same bank and just closing and opening a new one when needed? Is this going to create a red flag?

Should I close them or just open a new one and leave the old one alone?

Please share your experience.

I have done this with Harris Bank - and with banks up in Canada - just SPACED them out and I did not have trouble

If it was me, I will close any bank account that DONE to avoid mistake later on.

So it must be a good mismatched name bank too. I wonder if they check Chex systems for new accounts?

GE Capital bank. works well with my 5 accounts under one login and has 1% interest.

That is not wise to open and close bank accounts if you are in the CHEX system.

You will be flagged.

Harris is great for stealth but you should call them up and verify on their CHEX use

US Bank seems nice

I found this site that list non-ChexSystem banks. However, I don't know which ones are good for mismatched names. I will have to find the Stealth banks listed in this forum and then find them on the non-ChexSystem banks list

not sure if they use chexsystems or not. I really doubt they do since they are pretty new and it took me like 2 seconds to establish 5 accounts. They did not have to approve me or anything.
