Is it safe to use your name back to front for steath AMz?

Is it safe to use your name back to front for steath AMz?

Back to front as in use your first name for surname and surname for first name ?

Anybody tried this ?

If it is possible - This would bypass the need to find a bank to accept mismatched names and many other steath name related issues.

In truth, finding a bank that accepts mismatching deposits is not really an issue. 98% of banks are fine

Not all that many names can be used in reverse. Nothing something I have ever tried though on any platform (Amazon, EB, PP)

Seems to solve an issue that as far as I can see does not really exist.

I disagree

I was told how good a certain bank was for mismatched names so I opened an account online and had an account number in minutes. I had about $15000 deposited over a couple months and everything was fine with a mismatched name. However, I made the mistake of trying to transfer $5000 and my bank account went under review. They said the deposit name was not mine and closed my account and sent all the deposits back to Amazon.

My point is that it can be an issue and if my account would have had the names reversed they probably wouldn't have said anything. I think it's worth a try!

The other thing I was thinking is to just use your first initial and drop one letter from your last name. I think that would be enough that if the bank account went under review they would ignore it.

The only problem with these ideas is that you better make sure that nothing else is the same on stealth accounts. If you reverse the name or just use initial and drop a letter on last name this could easily link you if your AZ account goes under manual review. So you better not be in the same town or be selling the same item.

Daft idea.

Close enough for detection on account review. You need to stop thinking amazon work like eBay. They are strict in detection methods.

Avoid doing actions that flag an account.

Don't forget stealth means nothing to link, nothing.

Not needed for Amazon in the UK.

The funds are transferred via bacs. A bacs file doesn't include your name in it.

Good point Kelly,

Another issue this could resolve is that if your acct was linked and deleted with AMz trying to KEEP your funds, You would have a much stronger case in fighting them to get your funds after 90 days.

Steath name = Higher risk of losing funds

You are not thinking well.

IF amazon decide to terminate your account, they will do so.
Names will rarely matter

Do you mean the funds are transferred to your acct WITHOUT your name and therefore you do not need a bank acct that accepts mismatched names?

Does that apply to any other EU market places ?

yes the BACS protocol does not include a name in the transfer, it has amount, sort code and account number.

I don't think it matters. The name for your account is irrelevant. It's what your legal entity is. (LLC, DBA Etc..)

I have stealth account with my "last name is my first name" and the "first name is my middle initial" The difference is that I did this name as a LLC and have not had any trouble with banking.
Kelly is right. It's not so much the name as it is being a legal entity.

2 separate threads going on for DBA (US) and UK business identification it seems.

This is just brilliant! I think you can only have one DBA. Naming your LLC something that looks like a first initial and last name sounds like the way to go!
