Setup On Dongle Then Move To Over VPS When Stable ?

I'm thinking of setting up an AMz account on a dongle and then using a VPS to access it when the account has passed a review.

The reason for doing it this way is that if it gets canned early due to poor set up procedure, I don't lose a good VPS that has taken time to set up in the correct way. It may also make it easier to establish why it got canned in the first place.

VPS IP would be in a different city ...

Anybody tried this ?

Thoughts ?

I wouldn't do it. Amazon will see the change not only of the IP, but of the PC as well. Add to that the fact the IP will be in a different city, and it could cause the account to be suspended, or at least reviewed.

When you say a different city, did you mean the next town over, or a new city far away?

Undecided at the moment but I may be able to get a VPS in my own city or worst case scenario, the next city - about 15 miles away.

I thought they would not be too bothered about a change of IP once you had passed the first review.
They know people travel and access their accounts from a variety of different places.
They also know people sometimes change or use other peoples computers.

The VPS would be a fixed IP so they would see no further changing of IP's once access has been started thru it.
But as you say, It could be flagged when they see change of IP AND change of comp at the same time.

Copying the cookies to the VPS would be a bad idea because they will contain parameters that only apply to the original machine right ?

If I register thru VPS, Should I use an address in the same city as the VPS ?

What you have to try to work out is the more realistic way to keep a new amazon account working.

Look at what changes can be done or should not be done.

If other amazon accounts have been lost, you should try to get a stable set-up going.

Good Luck

I have used IP in different cities - not VPS per say, but still works. Mix it up with dongle and VPS use

Why go to extra expense?

Check that the OP is talking about only one account.

Seems a real overkill your method.

I do want to create spare dongle accounts to utilize when the dreaded linked email arrives, but when that time arrives, it could be a problem migrating them over to VPS because of the simultaneous change of IP AND Computer.

Maybe the solution would be to build the dongle accounts slowly over a few months, getting feedback, building trust and then trying it ...
