Invite from Amazon UK

Ha! Just wanted to share this with you. Got this email from a "Richard" from Amazon UK today.

Anyone else had anything similar?

Dear Sir or Madame,

I’m writing to you from Amazon.co.uk – I wanted to get in contact to invite you to sell to Amazon’s customers as a third party merchant.

I’ve been having a look at the products on your eBay store, and I wanted to get in touch with you because I think Amazon customers would be interested in buying them on the Amazon Marketplace. I wanted to explore whether we could consider you for a place on our Red Carpet scheme.

Red Carpet is a programme for selected sellers whereby we give you 6 months free subscription to trial selling on Amazon UK. We will also help you integrate your products so you launch successfully.

If you are interested in boosting your sales by reaching Amazon’s 17 million UK customers a month then please do feel free to get in contact with me by phone or e-mail as detailed below.

I look forward to your reply.

Richard.

So tempted to give a *nice* but dry witted reply. :brushteeth:

my inbox... specifically my ebay registered email that appears on my listings which has never been given to Amazon which makes me think he was seriously looking at my ebay shop!

Exactly - some internet marketer trying to get you on board - dont bother replying unless 1) you are interested or 2) you have time to burn or 3) want to have fun

The amazon red carpet scheme is legit. Just take the usual precautions and go for it if you can make a tidy sum. They'll assign you an account manager just try to negotiate the fees down.

They usuallly ask someone to join their red carpet scheme to see how your sales go and then eventually undercut you and take over. You may be the guinea pig.

If you don't mind me asking what to do you sell or what category is it in.

My ORIGINAL amazon seller account I created because I was invited. Had a buyers account for years and kept receiving the invites.

I'm not bothering right now, the email address is legit and good but I don't have the necessary other stealth info in place for a new AZ account right now. I am due to move home soon so when I do, that's when ill prob sign up for it once the year is out as AZ are doing their infamous cull anyway.
