Amazon Restricting Sellers from Listing Items (ouch !)
 

Curious to know your thoughts on amazon getting stricter about allowing regular sellers from listing products on Amazon. In this past yr alone I have received at least three emails about the following products:
- Apple Products cannot be listed (before I could list, but now only a select 2 or 3 big-time sellers can do so)
- Certain Pet Supply items (Amazon blocked anyone from listing)

Not a good sign moving forward for regular sellers like us on Amazon .... New Changes to take effect Nov this year.

A lot of high demand, high fraud items are being restricted until after the holiday season is over.

No one wants to pay for $500 + for an apple and a diaper :P

Or worse yet, a knock off MP3 player.

This is only continuation of megatrend. Last 30 years mom and pop stores run out of business by a few chains and bigbox stores. Now in ecommerce same trend will continue. The large operators will muscle-out the small guys.

And really this is the natural order of things in capitalism. Any industry will eventually get dominated by a handful of large players as competition forces small players to drop out and you are left with oligopoly.

Only way for small guy to survive in a long run is develop a niche that big players can't be bothered with.
