Tax ID for foreign account?
 

More specifically, Canada seller, US account.

When asked for the tax info on AZ US, being a Canadian seller, do you still need to input your tax ID, or explain you are out of country and not collecting tax.

Had a US acct for 2 years before banning, and cannot recall if we HAD TO put the tax number into the system.

I Do seem to recall a checkbox that says something like 'out of country" or similar.

@Phd, I havent encountered this first-hand on my .com accounts.

I went on Amazon.com and found this info:

I am a foreign seller and not a U.S. taxpayer. Do I need to provide any information to Amazon?
If you are a non-U.S. taxpayer, the responses you provide to the tax interview wizard questions will create the appropriate tax form on your behalf.

IRS regulations require non-U.S. taxpayers to provide Form W-8BEN to Amazon in order to be exempt from U.S. tax reporting requirements.
