Which Mac address to change in the router?
 
Hello my friends,

I have a question regarding the router MAC address. There is three MAC address in my router (Berkin N400 with tomato system)

WAN mac address XXXXXX:62:21
Lan router address XXXXXX:62:20
Wireless Address XXXXXX:62:22

Which one should I change? Both the first two??

I forgot which one need to change but remember that need to change the smallest number.

What is the reason for change Router MAC?

I would guess Wan router MAC. Why you want to do it?

Try to make a new amazon account :). I need to change the MAC for both the computer and router, correct?

What is your Internet connection? DSL, Cable?????

You need to change what the outside world can see - Wide Area Network (WAN). Both LAN and Wireless are local. Good luck!

^^^Follow Gotebay's advice.

It is the WAN MAC you want to change. I'll explain the difference & why it is your WAN.

LAN MAC - used for your 4-port switch and is seen by your wired clients.
WLAN MAC (Wireless LAN) - this is for your wireless NIC and is seen by your wireless clients.
WAN MAC - this is for your wan port and is seen by your ISP.

You want to alter the MAC that is seen by your ISP to obtain a new IP address, which is the WAN MAC.
