| eiilers | 11-05-2013 01:35 PM | Amazon Buy Box Question Hey Guys,
So I know how the Buy Box on Amazon works. Once upon a time I had an account that was making a lot of money, and sales were good. I know you have to be a featured merchant, and in order to get featured merchant, you have to have an account for x months + good metrics, etc. I get that.
However, here's my problem - the items I am selling on Amazon are my OWN product. So, I have NO idea how to get sales and ultimately win the buy box.
If I was listing on OTHERS's ASIN's/products, it would be easy. Undercut them, get sales, and wait.
However, since this is my own product, with my unique UPC code, I have no idea how to do this.
Also, I can't use Amazon PPC ads, because that only applies to products that have won the buy box.
How the heck do people selling their own unique products like this get started? I am baffled?
Do google PPC ads and send them to the amazon listing?
Any ideas?
Again, I know how to do this if I was listing under existing products. But for new products, in order to win Buy box you need sales and consistent ones. No idea where to start for a NEW product I created (for a HUGE niche market).
Thanks! |
Re: Amazon Buy Box Question If this is your own product, with your own UPC code, then it is a unique item.
You make your own listing page, and load it up with keywords.
No one should be able to join the listing because of the UPC code uniqueness. If they do, you can report them to AZ for improper listing of product.
Remember, each listing is SUPPOSED to be unique to each UPC code.
Hope that helps. |

This does help with google placements. |

Better to buy UPC's if it is for a long term product and not just a selloff or bundled product. |

They may want proof of your own UPC code, and copyright of product or exclusivity.
Next best thing to do is make the listing, then bundle a product into it (a freebie) to make it exclusive to you. |

I had to do it a long time ago when working for a company that was doing a lot of sales on amazon. It was a nightmare to proof that you are not a "donkey" but the biggest problem is getting hold of someone that can actually do something about it. People that answers the phone at AZ customer service have no idea how to deal with this, they just give you an email to write to and that email is a dead end with generic replies :deadhorse: | | All times are GMT -5.
