Regional bank versus NA bank
 

My banned account was with a smaller regional bank that only operated in the state where my account was located.

Would like to get opinions about whether to avoid opening a new account with same bank (using different branch in different city) and using it for my stealth account.

My stealth account (2 years old) has been functioning with another bank for a couple years and that bank is merging so I need to change banks regardless. I get a good deal with the regional bank and its nearby.

Why not? Just tell them your opening a savings account or another account for your kid to save. Open an account with Wells Fargo, I have 5 stealth accounts and never had a problem with mismatched names

Sorry - let me clarify a little further.

My recently suspended Amz account is with a small (only operating in my state in the US) bank with about 8 branches.

My stealth account has a confirmed bank account with another, different small bank in my state. This bank is merging with another bank and I want to change banks.

I would like to change my stealth account's bank to the same, small bank (different name and different account, of course) that I have for the suspended amz account.

Is this too much of a risk to get my stealth account banned?

Same bank does not matter. just needs to be a different bank account number. Routing number can be the same
