For the love of God, how do I get an American on the phone?
 

I have a pretty complex problem. I've tried calling Amazon 6 times and the people from Manilla don't understand what my issue is. They literally say, "I don't understand those words. If you can call back, you should ask for an American agent."

And of course, I call back, get someone in (insert non-English speaking country here), and the merry-go-round begins again.

Yeah, I noticed the change a few months ago. Before, I could get an agent in the US about 50% of the time. Now its never. The problem is not so much the language barrier but the overseas agents are taught to follow a script. It`s very robotic and they have no authority or are scared to deviate.

I would have figured companies would have gotten a clue after the Dell fiasco years back. It`s not quite as bad as ebay yet but we are getting there. All that`s missing is the 3 hour wait on hold.

Just another way AZ is not caring about their sellers.

I wonder if customers get overseas people, or if that section is in the U.S.?

I finally figured it out.

When you call their Customer Service number, 866-216-1072 DONT HIT ANYTHING. Don't even hit 0.

Just wait.

If you wait, you get transferred to the central operator, who is one of the few people in the system who has the ability to transfer you to a specific area.

Doesn`t work. I have tried multiple times and they get answered by Rajiv and Mahmood. The only difference is on email you get to rate their helpfulness afterward - for what it`s worth.

It`s funny how many times I gave them poor feedback scores for not helping me with my buyer feedback issues. :heh:
