| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 01:20 PM | Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? I have a stealth account that is about a month old. When I created the account I used a Vanilla Visa $25 Gift card that has worked on all of my other stealth accounts. Everything on the account was going fine and I have about $300 to disburse so today I went to add my bank info.
I noticed under my account info under payment method it said "None" and below that it said "Exception"
When I clicked "Exception", it showed me my VV GC info. I went to Vanilla Visa website and confirmed the zip code was correct, it was. Also, there is still $25 on the card and the weird thing is there are no pre-authorizations.
When I clicked on "edit", red letters came up and said my account will be restricted until I enter a valid credit card. I tried to just leave the info the same from the edit, but that did not work. I deleted the information and then added the same card again and everything seems OK now, but I'm worried it may not be too long before they say "exception" again.
There was a link for more help and here is what it said
"Credit Card Information for Your Seller Account
During the registration process, Amazon sellers are required to enter an internationally chargeable credit card with a valid billing address located in one of the countries accepted for seller registration.
Your credit card may be charged if you have a negative account balance at settlement time.
Note: Disbursements cannot be made into your credit card. You will need to specify a bank account for disbursements. For more information, see Bank Account Information.
We accept the following credit cards:
American Express
Diners Club
Discover
JCB
MasterCard
Visa
We do not accept alternative forms of payment, such as a pre-paid credit cards, gift certificates, checks, or online payment systems, such as PayPal."
Has it always said that they will not accept pre-paid cards?
I'm concerned that Amazon may be cracking down on Pre-paid gift cards. Other posters have said that this is easy for Amazon to detect prepaid cards because of the beginning numbers on the card.
So if this is true and we can't use pre-paid gift cards what are the other options besides opening a business account at the bank and getting a cc under your business name? |
| roberto | 01-06-2014 01:28 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? "We do not accept alternative forms of payment, such as a pre-paid credit cards"
Thats terrible news
Can you register sellign account with gift card though? |
| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 01:33 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? Well that's what the Vanilla Visa is , a $25 Prepaid gift card.
I'm not sure if this is true , the information Amazon gave may have always said they do not accepted them as a scare tactic
Will have to wait for other posters to see if they are having similar problems. The weird thing is the account was fine until I clicked on "edit" it didn't give any performance notices. |
| TonyAlmeida | 01-06-2014 02:06 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? We hope that they don't kill the VV card.
Once you enter your card number they are know exactly what kind of card is that by the BIN number. |

| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 02:15 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? What are the other options besides business credit card?
Those VCC I hear about for Ebay will they work or something similar? |
| TonyAlmeida | 01-06-2014 02:25 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? All the Credit/Debit card using the same info like this.
There are many website let you check the BIN (first 6 digits) of the card and they will tell you
- What bank issue the card
- What type of the card (Credit, Debit, Gift.....)
- The 1800 number of the card
Just like BOA card, they have many BIN number for different type, location. |
| tmastermind | 01-06-2014 02:33 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? Now the holidays are over I'm creating another Az stealth account using a popular UK visa pre paid card which has and still continues to work on my ebay and AZ stealth accounts. If this is something new AZ has applied then will find out soon. |

3v can register full address and name unlike other cards so i expect that to work? |
| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 03:50 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? Does 3V work for US accounts? |
Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? No problems here. Added a second VVGC to a fairly new acct. |
| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 04:35 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? I had no problem using it at registration, at sometime later it said "Exception" and "none" for credit card
Where did you buy your VV?
Mine was online at Walmart. They don't sell them on their website anymore so I wonder if there was some kind of issue. I think I read something about a bunch of gift cards that were stolen. |

| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 08:19 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? It said none, and then under that it said exception
I went on the VV website and checked. Still $25 on the card.
I checked another stealth account that was a little older and that was looks fine. Used a VV with that one to purchased from Walmart online. |
| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 08:24 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? IMO
Amazon could make things a lot tougher for stealth accounts. Wouldn't be hard to write a program and database that would block anyone from using prepaid or gift cards (see Tony's above post). Also, other tactics like Ebay asking for drivers license and utility bill etc..
Personally I think its a business decision not to push to hard. How much money would they lose if all us stealther's could sell on Amazon?
How much money would they lose if they inspected more items in FBA for cakes? I think they do just enough about cakes so they are not liable when a seller is selling them.
I haven't been stealthing that long on Ebay, but to me it seems easier to stealth on Amazon |

I wouldn't get hung up on BIN numbers, although knowing how the system works WILL help you in the future.
There are sellers of VCC's here that work just fine. And even if they kill the Vanilla Visa's there will be others. I was using Chase gift cards, but Chase discontinued them. I LOVED those cards because they could be registered with ANY full name and address and pass an AVS check. Try looking for gift cards at a local bank and ask if they can be registered online. If they ask why you want to know, just say for security. |
| Kelly441 | 01-06-2014 09:03 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? Nice, thanks |
| ifox007 | 01-06-2014 09:16 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? when writing a program to block people from using pre-paid/Gift cards, The BIN must be added to database for validation. Think about what if a NEW BIN has not been added. |

I did not notice any "Exception" and, or, "none" anywhere on the page. I added a 2nd VV due to discovering a low balance on the 1st..no problems, ..yet. |

all the other ones I bought before where form the Dollar General |
| FRANK BACON | 01-07-2014 09:55 PM | Re: Amazon not accepting gift cards anymore? I have a guy named Trey King for a little cash he will create a code that will get you a code that will trick amazon into thinking you have a valid credit card.
Then in 24hrs get another vanilla gift card and put it back it and you should be good to go. He is a super legit dude I have been working with him to get accounts open, get feedback etc.
You can find him on Facebook under Trey King, he lives in RI. Facebook him
and tell him your issue and mention Jason sent you.
Hope that helps because I use the Vanilla gift card but first use his pre-programmed VCC that spoofs for 24hrs. |
