Buyer Requests Return for iPod

So I sold a brand new 4th Gen IPOD Touch, shipped it out same day I received the order.

Today I get a return request with the following reasons listed:

I thought I could download songs from my purchases on iTunes several years ago. But when I talked to Apple Support they said the songs could not be found. Also, the white color isn't great.

WTF:argue: How are either of these a legit reason to return.

Also, Im currently under my first review, this is 100% legit account, and legit items, will Amazon see this ridiculous request and side in my favor or am I screwed?

Do you want to screw yourself?

If the buyer thinks they are legit, you take the risk of amazon agreeing with them....

Time to start thinking clearly

:juggle:

ps, I do not think the buyer is right. However they have power over you.

I could give 2 ****s, I am not taking a loss on an item that was brand new factory sealed, because of her stupidity. If Amazon does not review her return request and just sides in her favor, I will go ape sh*t.

Like you are now?

Why did you bother with a thread then?

Once again useless contribution to a thread, seems to be the going trend around here.

You have two options:

Accept the return and eat the loss and price cut,

Or

Fight it. Let amazon review you, get a neg with poor metrics and get shut down.

If you feel the ipod is worth your account, go for it.

so you ask for free help, receive it, and when you don't like what you hear you complain about the people helping you? you should thank greenie for helping you, and she's right, amazon may see it your way or may decide against you. Would you really want to risk that over a pretty small sum of money?

Dude, just make a call to seller support and seek there advice. Takes little effort, but be polite and explain your case methodically.

This is the game you agreed to play when you decided to sell on an online platform. There are always bad buyers out there. But the good buyers should far out weigh the few bad ones.

As cjmixers mentioned, is this item worth losing your account over?

And while I understand your need to vent, you should channel your energy on solving the issue with the buyer rather than against the forum members that take their FREE time to advise you.

you don't have to take a loss, simply let the buyer know that there is a 25% restocking plus the cost to ship the item to her. she probably won't be happy but its either that or accept return or have her file a-z claim and hopefully amazon refunds out of pocket after they see how stupid her reason is.

Well its pretty simple actually. Are you planning on becoming a seller on Amazon and doing this long term? Or did you just sign up to sell your ipod and make some quick cash?

If you're in it for the long term then accept the return so you dont run the risk of a claim or negative feedback. Im sure you're not taking a loss on this item; you're just making less profit once you resell it. If your margins are that tight, you shouldn't be selling that item.

Re: Buyer Requests Return for iPod

The reasons the customer stated for wanting to return are immaterial. They could have listed no reasons at all if they wanted to. If I were you I would politely explain that since the package was opened it cannot be resold as new upon return therefore a restocking fee would apply as @gamefreak mentioned. Chances are she will not have a problem with this. If she does, then call AZ and have them note it on your account in case she opens a claim.

You are getting advice but you have made your mind set on avoiding the return/claim so proceed with it - no worries, all a part of business.

Well I see your going to make lots of friends.

You asked for advise, you were given advise. Do not be rude just because you do not like the advise.
